Phoenix Suns general manager James Jones has announced that the team has relieved Igor Kokoškov of his duties as head coach.

“After extensive evaluation, I determined it is best to move in a different direction with our head coaching position,” said Jones. “I want to thank Igor for his work this past season and wish him the best with his future endeavors.”

A search will begin immediately for the Suns’ next head coach.

Imagine being a fan of this franchise. Prime Steve Nash couldn't get this team to 30 wins.

Woj says Monty is the leading contender.

I'm so stunned anyone in 2019 still thinks Nash isn't still a Mav at heart. Nice.

Such a shitty franchise. Maybe they’ll be able to put it together with Ayton, Booker, and Morant.

Took Bender over
1. Murray
2. Hield
3. Dunn
Then took Chriss in the same draft

Continued to ignore PG the following year and took
Josh Jackson over

1. Fox
2. Smith Jr
3. Ntilinika

Finally to top it all off, took Ayton #1 overall instead of:
1. Doncic
2. Young

I mean Ayton wasn't a bad pick he's gonna be really good, but this league has moved towards a wing and ball handler's club.

Phoenix said frick ball handlers. for 3 straight years

Spent #4 in consecutive years on Bender and Josh Jackson. The year we took Bender, we traded multiple picks and the rights to Bogdan Bogdanovic to move up and take Marquese Chriss. Even if the Suns only hit on one of those picks and just stayed put, they'd probably have Jamal Murray or Fox. And they'd have a great role player in Bogdan.

Had a trade this year to get SGA, but Sarver walked in and made them trade for Mikal Bridges instead. Bridges is good, but he wasn't as big of a need as a PG.

Ntilinika

Is that a bad thing?

He legit might be the worst offensive player in the entire league.

Ayton was worth it. His efficiency numbers were super high, even without anyone to feed him.

Jackson over Fox looks really bad in hindsight. I don't think Koskoskov was the coaching answer, so I don't hate the firing, but not having a competent PG or coach is a bad combo.

Prime Steve Nash is one of the best PGs to ever play the game.

Absolutely would get them to 30 wins. That's only 11 more wins than they have now with no PG.

Point taken though, they do suck balls.

Suns management rivals the Bulls management as dumbest in the NBA.

Get Morant, and they will be fun as hell to watch next year. League Pass lock.

It's more laughable that James Jones is the general manager.

Some bad rotations and baffling decisions. But it's so unfair to judge a guy who had to go into the season with Isaiah Canaan as his #1 and Ryno as his starting #4. Hope he does well in the future.

In the players poll coach Igor got quite a few votes for “what coach would you like to play for”. Also he gave us the best quote of the season.

Every coach hired in this league isn't meant to last. Some are placeholders, some are casualties of not being the current GM's "guy."

Sad part is that there appears to be a bidding war for him, as the Lakers are chasing him hard and the Suns fired Igor to try and get him first.

Great assistant and good guy but a shite coach considering the talent he had to work with like CP3 and Davis.
