There should be a 30 for 30 on how bad the division has been for 20 years.

Not taking away from Brady and Belichick but they have always been part of a cupcake division.

Has there been a better qb in that division than the sanchise during bradys run? Maybe Pennington?

The Jets were actually a decent franchise in the 2000s. From 2001-2010, they won six NFL playoff games. Only the Pats, Steelers, Colts, Eagles, and Packers won more playoff games over that time period. The other two franchises have been consistently bad though, I'll give you that.

Buffalo Bills have only made playoffs in 2017 in this entire stretch (a 3-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, so technically no TDs in the postseason since Brady has started a game), have yet to have a 10 win season nor win the division. Three 9-7 years (04,14,17) two 8-8 (02,15) worst record season was 3-13 in 2001.
Miami Dolphins have made the playoffs three times in this stretch (01,08,16) 1 division crown in 2008 with an 11-5 record. They have had double digit win seasons 4 times (01,03,08,16) with their best record being 11-5 twice in 2001 and 2008.. have yet to make it further than the wild card round. Worst record season was 1-15 in 2007
New York Jets have made the postseason 6 times since 2001 (01,02,04,06,09,10) they have 1 division crown in 2002 with an 9-7 record. That have had double digit win seasons 5 times (01,04,06,10,15) with their best record being 11-5 in 2010. They are 4-2 in the wild card round and 2-2 in the divisional round but are 0-2 in the conference final and have never made a super bowl appearance in this stretch. Their worst season record was 4-12 which has happened four times (05,07,14,18)
New England Patriots have made the postseason 16 times since 2001 only missing the playoffs twice (02,08) in this span. They have 16 division crowns. They have never had a below .500 record with their worst record being 9-7 in 2002. They have had 10 or more wins every year besides 2002 with their best being 16-0 in 2007. They have made it to their 9th super bowl this year (01,03,04,07,11,14,16,17,18) and have won five (01,03,04,14,16) so far. Of the 16 postseason trips they have been knocked out in the wildcard round once in 2009. The patriots are 2-1 in wild card rounds, 13-2 in divisional rounds, 9-4 in conference finals and 5-3 in Super Bowls.
