“Super teams are okay as long as they are formed through trades instead of FA” is the weirdest take there is. (Bosh was acquired via trade btw). It’s usually just people who have never liked Lebron, and were sad that he finally had a cast around him capable of winning and they couldn’t use their “BuT RiNgs” jokes. So they created a new rule to try to discredit it.

Also, why wouldn’t the Lakers be the one who started this? Payton and Malone joined the lakers in FA coming off a 3-peat. They weren’t in their prime but both still very good players. Is the other convenient super team rule that it’s okay to join a super team if you aren’t at your Apex or if said super team doesn’t end up winning the title?

Why don't they count? They literally formed the first super team to win a title.

Let’s see: one super team consisted of over the hill players constructed via trades

one super team consisted of 3 of the top 5 most efficient players the previous season coming into their primes constructed via contracts and FA orchestrated years before

hmmm...which one breaks the NBA More?

Explain how the Heat broke the NBA?

The NBA enjoyed record ratings and ushered in a new golden era of the league. The Heat won 2 titles, and they were never head and shoulders over everyone else like the Warriors to the point people tuned out.

Other than your hatred for Lebron and watching him win, how did the league break?

Someone needs to explain how the league is broken. Again, GS added 1 player to an already dominate team, and now the league is ruined? It's not the Warriors fault that the Rockets keep choking away their opportunity to take over the West.

The idea that the NBA needs to fix something shows you never read the I ching.

Portland made mistakes or they would have won. Warriors really missed KD most of the game. Bucks can beat them.

Warriors are not invincible.

I really don't see a viable solution either. The league tried to make it harder for players to form super teams by allowing current teams to offer a higher contract to help them keep their star players. However if I am a top player and I want a shot at a ring, I can't wait for the Warriors run to be over. I have to try to either form my own team (AD and the Lakers fiasco) or join the Warriors (Durant/Boogie).

Another issue is players are more accessible to each other than previous eras, so it is easier to network to form teams and share agents. I wish the league was still in the old Bulls-Pistons era or when the East and West were almost two separate leagues. I think it made the league better and more entertaining.

They inspired Durant

They didn’t get no-trade clauses until they signed with the Celtics.

I’m pretty sure Kobe was the only player in the NBA with a no trade clause at the time they were traded to the Celtics. (Maybe Garnett, don’t remember 100%)

So the Heat Big 3 broke the league because KD subsequently made a decision which you deem to apparently break the league. You then go on to conveniently assume KD was inspired by the Heat in order to make this decision.

Flawless logic

Why stop there? Maybe Harden and his style of baiting refs to make calls was inspired by a flop that Lebron or Wade may have had at some point. I’d say the Heat also creates Hardens style of play.

AD refused to play for the pelicans down the stretch because he saw Lebron sit out a few games for rest the past couple seasons. I’d say Lebron is the reason AD quit on the Pelicans.

Yea - the decision broke the league. Did you follow the NBA at all then?

The Banana boat crew tried their best to all play together.

The Celtics were just 3 older all-stars trying to win a ring before going out. They weren’t the cream of the crop MVP candidates colluding years prior at the Olympics to form a super team in their primes to win, in their own words - not 1, not 2, not 3, but 8 championships

THAT logic inspired Durant.

Yes as you’ve already stated in this thread, the decision broke the league because then KD joined the Warriors 6 years later. It’s bulletproof logic

THAT logic inspired Durant.

Of course, man. You would definitely have the insight to determine why KD did what he did. Can’t argue with that

Durant is the biggest cock gobbler I’ve ever seen.

Dude is a MASSIVE bitch with OKC and chokes and hides in the playoffs and then goes to GS and starts talking all the shite and acting like he’s a toughest guy in the league and getting thrown out of games and “you know who I am I’m Kevin Durant” and making burner accounts and shite.

We actually don’t know who the guy is. Everything about him is fake af.

And he’s so uncomfortable with himself and such a bitch on the court that he HAS to be on a team that almost CAN’T lose without him for him to NOT play like the bitch he is.

Shows up in California and gets a massive Tupac tattoo.

99% of these NBA guys are fake badasses. They wouldn't know what to do if they ran into an actual badass.
