Did you not see the ON/OFF numbers I posted?
The Cavs are (8-0) in the playoffs and about to play for an Eastern Conference Title...
Without LeBron what is their Series Records to this point in the playoffs?
FLIP THE SCRIPT....Look at what the Warriors are doing.....Look how they are still going to be moving onto the Western Conference Finals WITHOUT Steph Curry...

Okay. Once again, LeBron is a big reason why KLove is finally fitting in with the team and the 2nd biggest reason for their defensive presence (Lue being the biggest reason). Their defensive presence iwould decline if you replace LBJ with PG13.

, I said GS not losing a beat replacing Curry with Lilliard isn't a far stretch

Teams are sagging of Bron nowadays. Teams are having to defend Steph out to 40 feet.
Wut? Because it's all about offense and shooting?

Can we all pause for a second and realize who OP is quoting and using as his reference in this thread?

This is why all MVP awards should just be MOP awards. It's hard to argue who is the "most valuable."

How many games do the GSW win with Lilliard and not Steph? Where do they rank in the western conference?

That isn't a slight to Curry's talents, it's a compliment to that team.
This is spot on, its nothing against curry and what he is doing compared to what Damian Lillard could also do in that System.....its the culture and system they have created in GS. Plug a PG who could also be considered a SG in that role in on that team and you can get damn near the same results.

This is ridiculous.

You can put your money on Cleveland but any basketball expert would tell you it isn't a foregone conclusion. But instead of that hypothetical, replace PG13 with LeBron and I put my money on Indiana making it out the first round. Cleveland doesn't go 8-0 with PG13.

MOP = Curry (Not even close, maybe Westbrook would have a case)
MVP = LeBron (CP3 2nd)....

You seriously take the simplest of takes out of of everything. No, Bron's incredible because of the vision he has and how he can just bully people to the basket. It is still something that is largely able to be dealt with. The Warriors plan in the Finals was literally just let him get his, so he had 40+% usage rating.
You can't do that to Curry because of the space he creates. When teams are having to pick him up at halfcourt, sell out like crazy on PnR's, etc. it creates valley's of space for their offense aka it breaks teams defenses.

Probably? They'd be closer to 73 than 60. Come on.

if only we had a way to quantify players values
I like VORP, but it doesn't do a great job of isolating individual roles within the team. It is a nice stat, and Curry deserves the award this year, but it can't be used alone IMO.
For example, Kevin Love had a VORP of 7.3, 3rd in the league in 2013. He has a VORP of 2.5 and 2.8 in Cleveland. Same player in a different scheme and a different role and his VORP shrinks considerably.
On the topic of VORP, LeBron has been an absolute animal there in his career. He finished #1 every season from 2005-2006 to 2012-2013. He finished #2 in 04-05 and 13-14, 5th last year, and 3rd this year.

They just broke what was considered an unbreakable record by most. Just stop.

It's league most valuable player. Who's the most valuable player to the entirety of the league that year? Warriors set the record and Curry is their best player by far. This is one of the most lopsided MVP races ever. There's no even close second.

Or you can't do that because they have another historic lights ou shooter in Klay, and a physical PF who has incredible vision and a good shot from the perimeter. Curry has a lot of tools at their disposal which limits the way a team can play defense on him. It's pick your poison.
