The Greatest Baseball Player of the Modern Era
Posted by Hoyt on 7/31/14 at 9:08 am00
The guy was a fielding phenom (especially during his younger years) and could absolutely mash. Unfortunately, injuries plagued his career and still he put up 630 HR's, 2781 Hits, 1836 RBI, and batted .284 for his career. All Hail the GOAT

Babe Ruth won more games at a younger age than any pitcher in history, then hit 714 home runs, with a .342 career BA.

was a beast, but barring injury Griffey Jr. would have been the all-time HR leader pretty easily IMO and had over 3,000 hits

Willie DOES have 3,000 hits and missed some time for Army service. Your turn....

He missed ONE year and Griffey has only 30 fewer HR's with an injury prone career...your turn
re: The Greatest Baseball Player of the Modern EraPosted by FightinTigersDammit on 7/31/14 at 9:24 am to Hoyt
So give Willie, say 40 HRs, and he has 700 for his career, and extend his lead in hits. And since that was a prime year, also his lead in career BA. You're up, sir....
