Well go be an offensive coordinator then

If you've got a reciever over 6'2 it is a very good pass to call in college. Most big recievers are gonna win that battle against 5'10 corners. Look at how gaudy those big 12 offense are. It's because of the fade for a big part. It's a staple of the spread offense. It's actually a very aggressive playcall. Baylor, miss state, Iowa State, west Virginia, ok state, Oklahoma, and many more run it alot with success. The fade is very similar to the go route.

From the 2.5 yard line these idiots think they are so creative by rollout out their QB and cutting an already small field in half.
That's not as dumb bc I can see what they're trying to do. The rolled out QB usually is a threat with speed to score, and will have two receivers waiting should the spy on him committ to the run.
Sprint right option is one of the most succesful plays in football history and copied more than anything by every team in the WC offense.

Yes coaches are always right. Never make mistakes.

Cutting back up the field is generally an automatic score if the QB keeps it, that’s why that play is popular
On the same token a WR can use the boundary to his advantage because there is never a defender between him and out of boundd. It gives the QB a safe throw

Also a close second to stupidity is the rollout play that EVERY TEAM IN THE COUNTRY AT EVERY LEVEL runs

I hattteee that play
I rather put the ball on the hash and have my QB roll to the wide side, it presents better options IMO. The Qb can run. He can throw to the corner. He can throw to someone running across the flow of the defense and sometimes even throw back to the opposite side.
I think it is much better than just dropping straight back. Unless you throw a fade which rarely works you almost eliminate everything outside the numbers because of such a long throw into a defense congested into such a small area of the field.

Love the phrase "50/50" ball whenever the odds of a fade being successful is much much lower than that
Dude that is not what 50/50 ball means. It’s means only the Wr or DB have a shot at the ball...no one else. It’s a better pass than throwing something over the middle in traffic

You flowed the entire defense to a smaller area of the field. Even if you are wanting your fast QB to catch the corner, you've made that job much harder than any other play in the playbook
In these instances, there’s always a backside over route to counteract the defense overrunning the flow

Go watch the highlights of the last possession of Stanford/Oregon State from this year. David Shaw called the fade 4 times in a row till they got the TD, and then he called it for the 2 pt try!

I'll never forget when Steve Spurrier called 3 fades in a row vs. Alabama in 2009.
Stephen Garcia to Alshon Jeffery.
It was bewildering.

That's the problem with fades IMO. It's not a bad play call, it's just that sometimes the QB makes a shitty throw. If you have the advantage (size, ability, etc.) over the defender and the ball is thrown correctly, to where only his guy can make a play on it, then the fade can be a great play call.

When you have a QB that can make the throw consistently its a great throw to have in your arsenal.
Benefits:
1) Works well with taller WRs
2) Negates a double-team from the safety
3) Allows for the back shoulder fade option, if an experienced QB makes the right decision between over-the-shoulder or back shoulder it can be almost indefensible
4) QB can get ride of ball quicker negating pass rush, and almost no chance ball is batted down at the line
5) If thrown right very little risk of INT and increase risk of PI on the defense
Negatives:
1) Take timing and a lot of practice to get it right.
2) Its a different throw depending on the WR, again takes a lot of practice to get it right

With the current pass interference rules, it does have a 50/50 shot of being a completion or drawing a defensive PI/defensive holding call.

Anyone else remember Spurrier getting upset when his son and then OC called three straight unsuccessful fade routes against Bama in 2009?

Wildcat you know nothing about football. It's very evident
