Since 1990, the Big 10 has 1 NCAA tournament title, and that was 21 years ago with Michigan State.

In that same span, the SEC, a supposed shitty, 1-team league has 6 titles by 3 dif. teams (Kentucky, Arkansas and Florida).

The Pac 12/10, the legendary conf of UCLA has only 2 titles (1995 UCLA and 97 Arizona).

The ACC has a bizillion with like 11 or 12.

The Big 12, amazingly, only has 1 title, 2008 Kansas.

The Big East has 8 by a ton of teams.

So, in conclusion, the Big 10, which gets blown by the media every single year, has as many championships in an entire generation+, as the fricking WAC.

And that was basically an asterisked title
If Kenyon Martin didn’t break his leg, they wipe the floor with that team

That’s almost as fricked as 1990 being 31 years ago.

One of the weird things is they’ve had plenty of teams get to the final four, so the teams are really good. I think they’ve lost like 8 national title games or something.

2015 Wisky prob had the best shot as they beat that great Kentucky team.

Them and 2013 Michigan with Trey Burke. They played Louisville dead even for about 35 minutes IIRC.

And they only have a total of 4 titles football and basketball combined.

Since 1990:
Kentucky has 8 F4 appearances 1 title
Arkansas has 3 F4 appearances 1 title
Florida has 5 F4 appearances and 2 titles
LSU has 1 F4 appearance
AU has 1 F4 appearance
USC has 1 F4 appearance
MSU has 1 F4 appearance

Out of 120 possible F4 appearances the SEC accounts for over 15%. That’s pretty stout considering we get no love from any media outlet as a conference.

The Ohio State 06/07 team was an all time squad. Happened to play another all time squad in Florida in the championship.

Oden proceeds to ball out while they have one of their worst shooting performances of the season, shooting 17% from 3. And Florida shot 55%.

They played each other in the regular season that year too. 2 very talented teams.

I love all of these arbitrary dates. If you go back 3 more years, the B1G won the titles in 1989 and 1987...very selective years. Anyway, you are correct since 1990...BUT...the B1G has had more teams make the National Championship than any other conference!!! Lets not act like the B1G still isnt the deepest conference in America. Again, more teams from the B1G have made the national title in the last 31 years than ANY conference. Also, i believe in this same time frame, the B1G has been the only conference with multiple teams in the Final Four in multiple years. For whatever reason, the league just hasn't produced the best team. That doesn't mean from top to bottom, that it isn't the best conference....which it is!!

B1G National Championship Appearances:

1992 Michigan
1993 Michigan
2000 Michigan St
2002 Indiana
2005 Illinois
2007 Ohio St
2009 Michigan St
2013 Michigan
2015 Wisconsin
2018 Michigan

6 B1G universities made the finals.

ACC:

1990 Duke
1991 Duke
1992 Duke
1993 UNC
1994 Duke
1999 Duke
2001 Duke
2002 Maryland
2004 Georgia Tech
2005 UNC
2009 UNC
2010 Duke
2015 Duke
2016 UNC
2017 UNC
2019 Virginia

5 ACC universities made the finals.

Big East:

1996 Syracuse
1999 UConn
2003 Syracuse
2004 UConn
2001 UConn
2013 Louisville
2014 UConn
2016 Villanova
2018 Villanova

4 Big East universities made the finals.

Big 12:

1991 Kansas
2003 Kansas
2008 Kansas
2012 Kansas
2019 Texas Tech

2 Big 12 made the finals.

PAC 12:

1995 UCLA
1997 Arizona
2001 Arizona
2006 UCLA

2 PAC 12 schools made the finals.

SEC:

1994 Arkansas
1996 Kentucky
1997 Kentucky
2000 Florida
2006 Florida
2007 Florida
2012 Kentucky
2014 Kentucky

3 SEC schools have made the finals.

All of these "titles" are mainly by 1-2 schools. The B1G is simply the deepest most competitive league in the country. I know this board has a collective circle jerk trying to trash the B1G, but the FACTS show that the B1G is the best conference year in and year out.

That team was absolutely loaded. They would be a heavy favorite in this year's tournament.

If you want to talk about Final Four appearances over that same time frame, lets dot it.

B1G Final Fours:

1992 Michigan, Indiana
1993 Michigan
1997 Minnesota
1999 Michigan St, Ohio State
2000 Michigan St, Wisconsin
2001 Michigan St
2002 Indiana
2005 Illinois, Michigan St
2007 Ohio St
2009 Michigan St
2010 Michigan St
2012 Ohio St
2013 Michigan
2014 Wisconsin
2015 Wisconsin
2018 Michigan
2019 Michigan St

The B1G places a team in the Final Four practically every year. Its a dam good conference.

Pretty much the difference. Prime Oden was a monster.

Oden basically was the only big that ever gave the Horford/Noah combo problems in the paint while they were at UF.

Ill never understand the media hype and love for the Big 10. I guess because it used to be the premier conference decades ago when that region was the center of growth, prosperity and industry while the south was agricultural and poor and most of its colleges not very relevant. Perceptions and all.

Reality is the Big 10 region is full of dying rust belt states bleeding population while the south is the fastest growing region, population and money wise. And that money is pouring into our universities combined with more talent in these states to pick from.

This is the dumbest shite i have ever read. Especially coming from a school that never wins shite (Mississippi St). Did you not read my posts above pointing out the facts and how great of a conference the B1G is? Year in and year out, top to bottom, the B1G is THE best basketball conference in America. Just stop with this tired rhetoric. Care to explain how all those northern Big East schools won championships in a "dying" region???

Nothing to do with the thread, just wanted to point out how bizarre that was when Georgia Tech played in the national title game.

Fricking Grayson Allen killed them for 16 that game. They effectively handled Okafor, Tyus Jones was always going to get his that game, but they couldn't guard Allen
