Brewers lose to the Phillies.
As of Sunday evening, June 17th, your Atlanta Braves are tied for the best record in the National League.
What a time to be alive.

Teams have been trying to get Hand from San Diego since last year, and no one has because his price is too damn high. There is no chance the Braves even get close to dealing for him. No one is dealing for him right now.

Hand is under contract until 2020 with a team option for 2021. It’ll be the same price for deGrom and I don’t think the Braves pull the trigger.

I wouldnt go that high, bu ]t if the Braves called, I wouldnt be surprised if Preller asked for Gohara and Anderson, plus a lottery ticket like Encarnacion or Ramos.

How do you know? If the right offer is made ANY team would listen and the Braves have more prospects to offer than any other team in contention amd the Padres
are going nowhere.
And there's no way his asking price is higher than Degroms.

Not a Brett Cumberland fan?

and this is where we know the Braves fans come out of nowhere. Not knowing anything about baseball, but the Braves are good, so lets jump back on the bandwagon.
Ill go slow for you.
quote:
Reports from around the baseball world have claimed the Padres are asking a steep price for lefty reliever Brad Hand. Steep, but fair, say the Padres.
According to a team source, Hand has commanded the most interest of any Padres trade chip since A.J. Preller took over as general manager in 2014. "Half the league or more" has inquired about Hand, the source said.
In any case, multiple reports have recently suggested the Padres are asking for more than opposing teams would be willing to part with. An anonymous executive joked to Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan, "I don't think the Dodgers would ask more for [Clayton] Kershaw than A.J. is for Brad Hand."
quote:
Not every team can afford Hand in terms of prospects, however, which is how we can begin to eliminate some teams from the mix. When the Indians acquired lefty Andrew Miller from the Yankees at the 2016 trade deadline, they forked over four minor leaguers, including top prospects Clint Frazier and Justus Sheffield. While nobody would argue that Miller is the superior (and more established) relief pitcher, the two come with similar amounts of team control, while Miller’s contract guaranteed him $9MM per season.
quote:
“When you look at a player that we have control over for the next 2 ½ years, there was no rush for us to reach out and do anything,” General Manager A.J. Preller said. “If we got to a point where I was able to go to ownership and to our fanbase and find a player or group of players that I felt bring more value than an All-Star-caliber reliever, that’s what we were going to examine. Anything short of that, from our standpoint, we were very content moving forward with Brad.”
If Hand continues to excel, some wonder if the Padres might replicate what they pulled off two years ago. At the 2015 trade deadline, Preller declined to send closer Craig Kimbrel to the Yankees in exchange for shortstop prospect Jorge Mateo. That November, Kimbrel was shipped to Boston. The return consisted of current Padres center fielder Manuel Margot, current second baseman Carlos Asuaje and prospects Logan Allen and Javier Guerra.
So, lets say that Hand gets a package close to what Miller got, even though he is nowhere as good as Miller. That would be something like Christian Pache, Ian Anderson, Dustin Peterson, and Juan Carlos Encarnacion.
Or how about the package the Padres got for Kimbrel, since Preller made the trade, and it was for a good reliever. That would be Pache(Margot), Joey Wentz(Asuaje), Bryce Wilson(Allen), and Jefrey Ramos(Guerra).
Yeah, lets argue about how the Braves will get a deal for Hand.
Just because you have the best farm system /=/ to trading good prospects in a bad deal. Thats how you turn a potential dynasty into a what could have been.
