Here is the skinny really, the Braves believed that Simba has regressed on both sides. They view Ozzie as the future at short. Possibly by the break in 17, but more likely 18. Simba's value was never going to be higher than it was this off-season. Trading him makes sense. 2018 may be the real target rather than 2017.

Top prospects now (imo)
1. Newcomb
2. Albies
3. Allard
4. Sims
5. Riley
6. Toussaint
7. Smith
8. Soroka
9. Davidson
10. Jenkins
Olivera still has eligibility as well and I guess you slide him in at 2 or 3 theoretically. And then a shite ton of guys like Fried, Bird, Ellis, Yepez, Sanchez, Gant who would be in almost everybody else's top 10. Very good system.

Newcomb, Allard, Sims are all very, very quality arms.
I do think it may be time to start cashing in some of the absurd amount of minor league pitching quantity we have though.

Everyone is getting excited about the farm system while the actual Braves go to shite. Seems like the new regime would flip naming rights to the new stadium for a prospect to be named later if they could.
