If they didn't give a frick they never would have donated money and become a booster in the first place, genius.

Having boosters call players “the blacks” didn’t help anything

Agreed if they had just said "those people" it would have made it much more digestible.

Actually, "texas fight" is y'all's fight song (which owes it's very existence, title, and cadence to Texas A&M, as we all know).

"The eyes of texas," is y'all's alma mater. Which, as we all know, is a song which sounds like hell.

However, it must be confessed that y'all DO sing it well

sucks for the players that committed to Texas before all this went down, but will suck for Texas in future recruiting classes

Id simply want to know if this was an expectation delivered by the school and coaches prior to thm signing their LOI. If it was, im fine with this, if not, then Texas deserves all the shite coming to them from it

Supposedly they're issuing a report tomorrow that will piss off the woke crowd saying the song is not racist. Meanwhile, the boosters are planing to hand out banjos and lyrics to all recruits. Weeeeee...fun times in Austin.

I think the donors are pissed because they're paying those players as well. They just can't come out and say it so "those who pay the bills" is the term they use.

I agree, but to say that the players don't have power is ludacris. The donors have the right to choose to not donate and the the players (current and future) have a choice to play elsewhere. Enough shitty classes with 3* kids, while the elite black talent continues to go elsewhere will have some donors that care about football willing to change their minds. Some may not ever care and still want the song played no matter how bad Texas is getting skull fricked up and down the field and that's ok, but those that do may say eff it and cave

You hit the nail on the head. ALABAMA and TAMU took most of the elite players from Texas pretty much on their own in 2020. BAMA got two high school All-America Texas legacy players. State recruiting, I'm sure, had as much to do with Tom Herman's demise and eventual firing as anything.

So Texas wants to continue to wave this red flag in front of the elite-of-the-elite? Bold Strategy.
