I think it’s Louisiana Christian University now.

Wonder how’d they do in 3-5A

That first link says “no admission to basketball games due to COVID”

Last month so I’m guessing they’re an HBCU

They don't even have their roster listed.

The head football coach is also the AD.

NAIA at its finest.

eh that’s bottom of the barrel naia. Most NAIAs are realizing they have to play catch-up wherever they can to stay competitive. They just blatantly don’t give a shite anymore

Do they have a mercy rule in NAIA or is this from full 9 inning games?

for a 9-inning game... it's 10 runs after 7

for planned 7 inning games (which small college baseball has a lot of)... no run rule

TC's schedule is incorrect... the series starts Friday evening and ends with a Saturday DH

correct... it is

Defense put up a good fight at least

that 9-0 result was actually the result of TC forfeiting the game

in the baseball rulebook... a forfeited game goes down as a 9-0 result

I grew up in Tyler and am surprised they even still have a team. Texas College is really small school. They don’t even have 1,000 students and they’ve dealt w/funding issues on and off for a long time.

plus they went off the deep end with COVID stuff with Omicron

they didn't allow students on campus until like real late January... so while all the other teams in their conference were practicing and getting their seasons started... TC's players were all back home doing whatever (and their baseball roster typically includes a respectable number of kids from the Caribbean islands)

They must walk a ton of people. You can hit your way to getting 43 runs. Holy frick that is terrible.

in the 43-1 game to Texas A&M-Texarkana... TAMUT had 26 base hits, 7 double, 3 HRs, 19 walks, & 5 stolen bases

also... TAMUT used 3 pitchers in that 43-1 game... the last of which got credited with a 3-inning save

the starting pitcher only went 1 inning b/c by the time the defense took the field in the bottom of the 2nd inning... TAMUT was up 23-0

the NAIA Ball podcast talked about this situation today... TC is apparently fielding a baseball team with approximately 13 players on it... 0 to 6 of which are actual BASEBALL players... with the rest of the roster being filled out by football or soccer players... and TAMUT was GIVING UP outs... like just having players take the lead off the bases and just let TC pick them off

that's solely on TC for making the decisions it made on an administrative level that made them so very uncompetitive... and that's just not a baseball thing... this entire season they have been only competitive in both men's & women's basketball and men's soccer

the Louisiana Christian women's soccer team put 25 goals on TC

TAMUT 43, TC 1 - Box Score

TAMUT 18, TC 0 - Box Score

TAMUT 38, TC 0 - Box Score

and the other games TC played this season... a conference series against Our Lady of the Lake (San Antonio)

TC 0, OLLU 32 - Box Score

TC 0, OLLU 19 - Box Score

Game 3 of the OLLU series was forfeited... and went down as a 9-0 OLLU win
