As the mark of a new era.

This has to be the greatest invention in the last decade to get a group to rally around in college football.

I haven't seen anything like it and that's what makes it so amazing.

I don't even like The U but damn if that chain doesn't hype me up

Winning makes everything look good and cool. Had Miami been on the opposite end and lost 41-8 last night, the chain would’ve been stupid.

In all fairness if your losing 41-8, you probably haven't forced any turnovers

There will be at least 6-7 copycats or spinoffs of the chain next year

Funny thing is, supposedly Bama has had a championship belt for similar big plays for like 3 seasons now and most don't even know about it.

But then again, it's not nearly as cool as the turnover chain, so there's that too.

Who was the team, I remember early in the seasion some team had a garbage can that they'd slam the football into when they came off the field for a turnover.

Appreciated the effort, but that one was pretty lame.

I saw an Alabama coach last night in the last 5 minutes of the game hold up a 4 ft section of chain above his head. May have been a defensive call, but there are better ways to do that.

Good point. Didn't Tennessee have some stupid garbage can thing going this year? Looks dumb when you lose.

About 1/4 of the way through the season Tennessee figuratively lit that can on fire to represent their efforts on the field.

I don't see anything wrong with it.

I also think people put too much stock into it. I saw many guys last night crediting the turnover chain with why Miami forces so many turnovers. I don't think that's the case. I think if the chain never existed, there would just be something else, some other place to get their motivation from and they'd have probably the same amount of turnovers as they do now.

Bama has had a belt (And so do several other teams, Georiga has spiked shoulder pads, Texas A&M had a pimp cane (not sure that one is still around)

If the Miami players think it's the reason, then it's serving its purpose.

Downside is these things have a short shelf life and the chain won't have the same aura next season.

The chain is nothing new, it seems like almost every team has some kind of turnover gimmick now.
