A fair number of LA schools are looking at A/B schedules right now. If they are only allowing kids on campus 2 days a week for class, I don't see any way they allow they kids not going to school that day, to come to campus after school for practice.

If they are only allowing 50% capacity on a school bus, can they get enough buses to take kids to games?

The pro leagues are talking about testing every couple of days, and "bubbles" etc. The vast majority of high schools can't do that, don't have the resources for that.

Finally, without the gate, how are these schools going to be able to pay for all of this?

Lowered revenues and increased expenses is a bad deal for most schools, especially inner-city schools like Dallas.

The reality is, unless we change our approach to this virus, and how we handle it, or some sudden and immediate cure appears, we aren't having HS football this fall.

HISD and KISD all attempted voluntary strength and conditioning camps already. They were all cancelled. Essentially every major high school had at least one case.

That is with kids NOT in locker rooms or showers. They essentially arrive dressed for the workout and leave to shower at home. Which is already nasty, add work outs in pads? The NFL will have positive cases. That’s with state of the art cleaning procedures. Most Texas high schools can’t afford that.

It's why they need to switch places with baseball on the high school level.

I wish college baseball would play this fall if football is a no go and you could even try and start college hoops for a fall season only with tourney weekend of Thanksgiving.

Tell teams that. Season ticket holder and they are sending me emails on “how confident they are fans will be in the stadium.” I’m more like just reimburse me my money cause I really don’t see this happening.

Where I hear the Eagles suspended season ticket payments so it appears they are more in the know.

He wasn’t making an announcement, he was just answering a question. This guy is the Supt of Dallas ISD, not of the UIL or TEA.

If school administrations can’t support it given whatever framework they’re operating under it isn’t going to matter what the UIL says. Just like with everyone getting too excited about what Bonine said the other day, he isn’t going to make the final call.

I dont understand why there is no consideration how much good high school sports does for the kids. Mentors, coaching, place to be, goals to work towards, etc...
More kids will get killed than die of covid without sports. Alcohol, drugs, shootings, doing stupid stuff.
Some kids will never show up for school.
Look at the loss of a parental figure.
Loss of the experience.
It goes on and on.
