Interesting that you talk about bringing substance because I have brought Medlen's WHIP, ERA, W/L record, etc. Infact, there is no mainstream stat that says Lohse is better than Medlen. Actually, Medlen blows him out of the water and it isn't even close.

And what is your substance-filled argument?

wait for it...

It's coming...

Seriously, it's coming...

LIKE OMGZ!!! LOHSE HAZ PITCHED MOAR GAMEZORZ THAN MEDLEN!!!! MEDLEN SUX!!!!

Yep, like I said, any pitcher can get hot and have a good half season of baseball.

AJ Burnett had an awesome first half, not near as good second half.

Comparing stats from a full season starter with 211 innings pitched to a guy in the bullpen until just before August with 138 IP makes you look extremely stupid.

Bragging on said stats, is even worse. ZOMG I haz awesome 2 months I iz the best evar!!!!11!1

I've not once said Medlen isn't a good pitcher, he is, you just take it too far for someone that didn't make a start until basically August.

I take way more into what is happening of late than what happened in the first half of the season.. Hence why I always win my fantasy baseball leagues. It's all about the current streaks.

By that logic, you are saying the Cardinals weren't the best team in baseball last year because they played like dick for the first half of the season only to get hot late.

They weren't close to the best team in baseball in the regular season, hence the Wildcard.

They were obviously the best team in the playoffs, which is all that matters.

Everybody is 0-0 in the playoffs.

I know I'm late to this thread, but the Cards better get ready for the Medlen pain train!

I'm torn on which one of these teams I want the Reds to skullfrick if given the chance.

I'm not afraid of Atlanta at all, so it would be nice to have an easy road in the first round. On the other hand, it would be awesome to knock out the defending champs.

The Braves don't know how to play in GABP, and that's a fact.

I'm assuming that Matheny will rest all the starters today, huh?

I'm looking forward to seeing Shelby Miller pitch tonight. I haven't seen him yet.

I think all these pitching stats being thrown around is pretty pointless...it's one fricking game! I think the Braves are primed for a playoff run, but this is just one game and it's against the Cards...one of the most clutch teams in recent memory, I'm worried!
