They should try this versus a good team.

I think GSW wouldve done just as well had they kept Jackson. Not like they were a bad team with him as coach, they were just young and the western conference was stacked. Kerr gets too much credit...he got the benefit of taking over right as a trio of young all stars were just coming into their prime and when the west’s best teams were getting old and on the decline.

I guess I would be the only one shocked if GS didn't make it to the finals this year? I'm not predicting that, but I just wouldn't be surprised at all.

I argued with tons of people on this board who said Curry was the perfect candidate to be the face of the NBA. Somehow, most people seem to ignore that Curry celebrates worse than Swaggy P.

Watching him lose his shite in the Finals a few years back was hilarious. He threw his mouthpiece at a Cavs fan and got ejected right after he unsuccessfully tried to put a dream shake on LeBron. Curry is a colossal douchebag.

Did you watch the play that they called a foul on him for? LeBron had one of the worst flops I've ever seen on that play. Like he's standing there, Curry's running back to the other end to play D, then LeBron basically thrusts himself on Curry's back and falls the opposite way that Curry's going. It was a BS foul and he had every right to get mad. If that makes Curry the bitch in this situation idk what that makes LeBron.

They run a drastically different offensive system than they did under Jackson. Just about anyone could take over at this point and they'll keep rolling but Kerr was a big part of the original iteration of that team realizing their potential.

The mouthpiece toss was in the making well before that. That was just the play that actually set him off. But GS was getting blown out and LeBron had just blocked yet another one of his shots, which was a recurring theme in the last 3 games of that series.

Coaching absolutely matters. But coaching doesn't matter much when you have one of the greatest teams of all-time playing a terrible team that's basically G-League level without its best player

You either need one of the GOAT teams (Warriors), one of the GOAT players (LeBron), or one of the GOAT coaches (Pop, Stevens) to have a chance.

D'antoni is one of the GOAT offensive coaches, so we'll count him too.

And then bam there's the best 5 teams in the NBA.

I'm not a Warriors fan and I love this.

Kerr has to pull out every trick in the book to keep his team motivated at this point in the year. Pop does this as well.

Players coaching players fosters a culture of accountability.

You are totally forgetting the fact he was picking up fouls on stupid plays by him and bitching that he was getting called for them. It was like he was constantly and blatently reaching in on defense to pick up fouls. He wouldn’t have even been in foul trouble if he wasn’t playing like such a douche that game. The problem is he just struggles with being a douche on the court.

When players start taking way less money in their prime to build super teams this happens.

It is one thing to take a few million less to play on a team, but Kevin Durant is making $25 million and should be one of the highest contracts in the league (currently 16th). The Warriors got lucky the cap exploded right after they had gotten their young players all on reasonable contracts.

Klay will soon leave and they will come back to reality.

Seriously.

Why are so many folks shitting on them for this?

Every quote from players and coaches so far about why they did it or what they learned has been pretty genuine and sincere.

I took it as they're so goddamn good that it doesn't matter if they suck for a bit and doesn't matter if they don't listen to Kerr because they're legitimately good enough to win anyways.

That's a horrible hole to fall into.

Wouldn't you have 100% lost that argument considering Curry's brand right now?

He may be the 2nd most marketable star in the big 3 sports.

This also feels like a strawman...you're honestly saying there were "tons of people" saying he'd be a bigger face of the NBA than Lebron? I call BS on that.
