Pretty cool story. Much props to him.

quote:

A few hours before the start of the 2021 NFL draft, former Alabama star Najee Harris visited a homeless shelter, Greater Richmond Interfaith Program (GRIP), as they hosted a draft watch party in his honor.
It was a homecoming of sorts for the Steelers' No. 24 pick, as Harris, his four siblings and his parents lived in that shelter for several years growing up.
"Just to see him as a grown man with this kind of opportunity for him today and to know that he lived in this shelter among many other places their family had to move around and lives as a homeless man just speaks to [the thought that] anything is possible," Kathleen Sullivan, executive director of the Greater Richmond Interfaith Program, told ABC 7 News.

Harris is quickly becoming one of my favorite players. There’s nothing not to like about him at this point.

Cool change of pace from the typical living room scene with mama and cleat chaser gf working the cameras.
You can tell it really means a lot to him emotionally.

Yep. I love the guy's personality too. He can be real, yet, still respectful. I hope the guy does well.

Yep. I tried not to like him, being a bama player & all. But he's really making it impossible.

The real turning point was when he straight-up hurdled that dude in the playoff. I made the whole family gather 'round and watch that replay.

As an Auburn fan, I want to hate him for the rivalry...but, this is just another story, of many, that makes it very, very hard to not root for him. He's an all around great guy and I hope he has a long, prosperous career.

So here's to you Najee

He's a great kid. Proud that he's in the black and gold and playing for the greatest franchise in pro sports.
