Pisses on LHSAA. He's the head of the state senate education board.

This will not go well. Punishing the kids for political reasons, yes Covid is still around but we have to learn to live with it.

I hope angry parents blow up his office with calls and let him know what an idiot he is. He probably won’t care.

I'm not surprised. I will be shocked if any form of football is played for sure.

Nothing signifies intelligence like writing "Protecting our children" in bold font, considering kids have almost zero fear of the virus.

Didn’t the CDC come out and say schools should be open? Common sense no longer exists for most politicians

At this stage, I will settle for NFL-only.

High school and college football are in serious trouble.

Are we supposed to be surprised here? Already in EBR parish, it looks like they might make all the students spend the school year in a virtual learning environment.

Not that I’ve seen. I saw that AAP said they’d recommend kids being in school.

This might be the final nail in the coffin of the LHSAA. A number of politicians have wanted to have the state take it over anyways.

My son's baseball team's coach came into contact with someone who tested positive but the coach was negative....parents flipped the hell out and every single one of them would not allow their child to continue the season

These kids were twice removed from the actual positive case, the direct contact person tested negative but all it took were whispers of possibilities...I believe this incident is a microcosm of what's to come when kids physically start going back to school. Janitor, teacher, teacher's side, school secretary, bus driver, a fellow classmate...news of one person on any given campus testing positive will cause a domino effect of panic

Pussy

This is purely political to get someone in the Oval Office has nothing to objectively do with a virus that doesn't even remotely effect anyone from 0-50 years old.

What logical reason would there be to cancel high school cross country?

My gym just reopened today at noon. But we can't have high school kids running away from each other outside?

I just feel terrible for high school seniors who are athletes. If you played sports in high school, imagine someone just taking your senior year of competition away from you.
