Stadiums that aren't around anymore that you wish you could see a game at.

The Tiger Rant Rosenblatt thread had me thinking, I really wish I'd gotten to see a game there. I'm glad I got to sneak one in at the old Yankee Stadium but that's another that I'll miss. The history of that place and all the greats that came through there. Not really a Yankee fan at all but I am a big history fan and especially a baseball fan as well as a sports fan.

Tangentially to this, What are some modern parks that were better than their predecessor? It feels like most new parks win in terms of amenities and maybe have cooler exterior designs but almost always seem to fall much flatter in terms of atmosphere.

I regret not going to Tiger Stadium in Detroit the last few years. The upper deck configuration meant most seats were close to the field. The drawback of that is a lot of obstructed seating.

An absolute disgrace they tore this park down

In the age of new corporate blandness these old stadiums are palaces. Shut down the franchises if the Red Sox and Cubs ever build new parks.

A Jets game at Shea stadium. Something about those old NFL films highlights make it look so interesting

Old Yankee Stadium (both the 1923 version and renovated 1976 version).

Loved seeing Cecil fielder hitting the top of the roof.
On tv of course.

Tiger Stadium is the one that they really should have kept around. I’m not familiar with all the details but it sucks we lost that one

Truist and the Battery are miles better than Turner and the shithole surrounding that ballpark. Though the Summerhill area is on the upswing I will say.

I’m admittedly not a ballpark historian or architect, and I missed this one, but I find Comerica Park nice and it’s cool to be right downtown within a short walk to the other sports stadiums when multiple events are going on.

Old Yankees stadium will always top this list for me. Glad I got to see Fenway and Wrigley already, which they should maintain forever.

Went to a ton of games at the Astrodome when it had the big exploding scoreboard. Wish I could still see games there.

Never saw a game at Rosenblatt. Wish I could have gone.
