Surprised this wasn't already posted on here, seems that people really are starting to look elsewhere for their sports news.

ESPN's ratings have been a significant topic of discussion this summer.  With NBC Sports Network strengthening their position and Fox Sports 1 looking to challenge Bristol directly, not to mention several league networks drawing fans, ESPN is facing more competition than ever before.  Although the network was coming off of rating highs in the early parts of 2011 and 2012, 2013 brought multi-year lows in the ratings department.  In the second quarter of 2013 ESPN was down 32% in primetime and 20% in total day average viewership compared to the year before.  On the other hand, NBCSN, Golf Channel, MLB Network, NFL Network, and Fox Soccer all saw increases in year-to-year viewership.

* SportsCenter ratings are down across the board.
- The early evening edition of SportsCenter at 6 PM ET averaged 665,000 viewers through 6/30, an 8% decline from last year.- Perhaps most surprisingly, the primetime 11 PM ET SportsCenter averaged 870,000 viewers through 6/30,down 21% from last year.- Additionally, according to the anonymous TVSportsRatings, daytime live editions of SportsCenter are down 12% from last year.  Richard Deitschreported the average viewership was 405,000 viewers through May 12 and the ESPN2 afternoon lineup of SportsNation and Highly Questionable were down 22% and 15% versus last year.

Honestly, I get most of the stuff I used to get from Sportscenter from here and usually a day ahead of time.

And now that I have MLB network I get MLB news from them

The ONLY time I watch ESPN anymore is for live sports.

Other than that, frick that. Nothing but bias and stories I don't give a shite about.

I <3 MLB Network.

I get the highlights I care about from the local news. If anything is exceptionally worth watching, I see it on here.

SC has become full of "segments" and not a news show like it used to be

It's the fallout from hiring Keith Olbermann back.

For some reason, I still watch it for College Gameday and occasionally for the CFB live, because there isn't any where else on TV that will let me soak up the college football atmosphere, even if they say stupid shite.

But ya, either than those 10 times a year, I'm not watching it besides live sports.

All this for me.

MLB Network is great. NBA TV is worlds better than ESPN. Now that the leagues have networks, there's no reason for me to watch ESPN. Their college football coverage is the only thing that's halfway decent.

And I would have absolutely agreed with you as little as a year ago, they are the best live sports coverage hands down, imo. I just haven't gotten burnt out of the constant opinion and debate format of the show, as I know many others have. My tv at home has had MLB Network on more than double the amount it has ESPN on, although that is mostly because MLB Tonight > Baseball Tonight.

Save for the fact that most of the matchups blow.

I watch espn for their CFB related shows and live games. And occasional replays. That's it

I have watched College Gameday every Saturday morning for 15 years, nothing is going to change that. The personalities, atmosphere, and the general attention they give the sport I am most passionate about... College Football! But I used to be a Sportscenter everyday guy, some days I don't even flip to Espn at all anymore.
