Sport ratings have been up across the board this spring

Hell, I believe most are beating their 2019 numbers right now

Decent number watching the Penguins get eliminated.

Truly amazing that all the people acting like their "boycott" of the NBA meant anything especially considering most probably never watched the NBA anyway

It's a shame that hockey doesn't get more viewers than it does.

Niche sport.

I was part of the NHL viewers for all three playoff games listed above.

NBA playoffs are up over last year. But remember you are comparing this year's games to games last season played on a Tuesday and Wednesday that had 1pm & 2pm east coast tip offs.

Ratings are down 2% from the last traditional post season Sunday afternoon (2019), but that could be accounted for the NBA losing on Sunday to Phil Mickelson’s win in the PGA Championship, which had over 6.5 million viewers.

Now the Saturday night game took a major hit compared to 2019(LAC-GSW), the Celtics-Nets on ABC Saturday night — declined 30%

As was I. It seems fans of sports watch the NHL because I see the NHL talked about here and many other sports centric places. The casual fan might not watch the NHL but will watch the NBA because of the hype, marketing, and channel availability. TNT probably gets viewers that leave their TV on while NBCSN, probably not.

Another point, that Knights v Wild game was on BSN North as well. That's where I watched it and wouldn't be shocked if most Wild fans in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the Dakotas watched it on the home station as well. I'm guessing the same is true for the other NHL playoff games, that they are simulcast on the RSN with the local crew doing the call. Might need to add in the numbers of the RSNs to get the true numbers on how many are watching the NHL games. Add TSN in Canada as well.

There's truth to that. NBA gets tons of hype across many platforms and TNT/ESPN are much more available than NBCSN.
