I find it hilarious they keep acting like Griner did nothing wrong and is just the victim here. She freaking broke the low knowingly and is paying e price for it. No one forced her to go to Russia to play ball and make money. She chose to do that.
Instead, she was unjustifiably detained when Russian citizens would get the same punishment fir the crime.
And please, by all means don’t play. No one is watching anyhow and it is people like this that I am embarrassed to use as role models for my daughter. In fact, I will use them as the epitome example of weak and what not to be like to be a strong woman.

The real irony is Griner isn't the only victim of Russians overreach. A US Marine has been incarcerated for four years.
Is he not a person as well?
Does he not deserve his freedom when his punishment didn't fit his supposed crime?
Why is it that Griner's life is more important than his?

The "wrongfully detained" narrative is kind of ridiculous to me. If you willfully break the law in another country and get caught, they are well within their right to detain you. Don't want to do time in a Russian pound you in the arse gulag, don't break their laws.

I'm not sure why athletes think they're so much more important than everyone else. Everyone at some point will have to go back to work after a loved one dies or whatever else that may happen. Dealing with tough personal circumstances isn't anything new.

I would say he's more of a "real" person than Griner is because he's a true American in my eyes. A soldier that is paying a price for political BS! Listen, I've read the other thread and I know where you stand, now I'll tell you where I stand and have always stood. I stand alone, basically, because I'm a minority myself(Bi-racial), kinda a man with no island. As an ex-middle-aged former college athlete and ex-veteran, I should have played in the NFL, but I won't get into all of that, let's just say bad knee injuries finished the dream. But I don't lean to the left because a lot of it is what I call fantasy land BS where everyone is joined in hands and singing while a lot of evil is being played out right in front of you with Black on Black crime and such, but let's blame it on the White man because he's the reason for the problems. Smh I don't go to the right because they tend to think that all minorities are alike when that just isn't true, I'm living proof.
