I think he would have been fired last year if Trout didn't single handedly save the Angels season.

Team just looks sluggish and uninspired. I think he and Angels could both benefit from a change .

AL manager has little impact on the game during the game but he is responsible for the lazy attitude they play with

He needs to be in the NL with a young team

Finally people are getting around to saying Scioscia is not as good as previously thought.

Mike Scioscia is one of the best managers in baseball. He is both a players coach and a strategist. Fire Dipoto. The core players in 2002 were from the farm system. Erstad, Glaus, Anderson, Salmon, Percival, K Rod. This team is a bunch of overpaid frickers that don't give a shite about the Angels.

Might go down as the worst contract in history.

Not that hard to get him out anymore now that everyone knows he'll swing at anything. He legitimately is a terrible hitter.

Hamilton can still turn his season around but Rangers fans were trying to tell everyone the Angels were going to have to deal with shitty periods like this. Anaheim is probably about a month away from his first horseshite excuse. I hope their fans don't fall for his Jesus routine like ours did and properly boo his arse when he is half assing it.

No I don't think he should be fired but he should move along. The GM has completely taken Mike out in Anaheim. Reading an article on ESPN other day and it stated that Scioscia used to have a say in player moves and that has been taken away and that the current roster was constructed in wrong manner.

They fired Hatcher last year without consulting with Mike and signed/traded players without letting him know. Yes a manager is supposed to win with what they've been given, but a team put poorly together based soley on money isn't a sign of good things. Yankees did it around a group of home grown stars first and even they failed at first, Angels have Weaver as a home grown star and now Trout that is it.

If they fire MS , the Rangers need to go get him. He'd be a huge upgrade over Wash

He may be a better tactical manager than Wash, but if MS-13 is having trouble with motivation now, how is he going to motivate a clubhouse that would be absolutely shellshocked by Wash's departure?

They won't fall for it. You can pull that off in the Bible Belt but not in irreligious SoCal.

ast year was a total failure, and this year is even worse. Given the lack of results despite a gigantic payroll, do you think Scioscia should take the fall?

Secondly, do you think he WILL get fired?

I mean, do you think it's the manager's fault that the GM is doling out ridiculous contracts and that Pujols/Hamilton forgot how to baseball? Or the fact that instead of going out and spending $ on a great pitcher to shore up the rotation, the GM just said, "ah, frick it. We'll get hamilton and joe blanton."

Not really and I don't think MS should be fired. The GM needs to be fired.

Someone nailed it in the DAT....

Josh Hamilton =/= Carlos Lee.

High $. Low interest in playing baseball.

Wilson, Hanson, and Vargas all have ERA under 4. Weaver is hurt. I'm not sure what else their staff can do. Yeah Blanton sucks but that's a given. The underachieving offense is putting pressure on the starters and the pen to hold teams to less than 3 runs a game.

The offense has been a bunch of pieces that just hasn't meshed. Pujols is banged up, Hamilton is going through one of his slumps, trout hasn't been trout, bourjos is hurt and aybar was hurt. It's still early and the offense could just start clicking.

I wouldn't be shocked if trumbo got dealt. He's always great in the 1st half and pedestrian in the second half. Angels might sell high and bring in a few bandaid pieces for the rotation and bullpen.

That may be kind.

Hamilton is going through one of his slumps

For all intents and purposes he's been in a slump since last May.

trout hasn't been trout

Then again, Rangers backup catcher Geovanny Soto was once the NL Rookie of the Year. After overpaying on Hamilton (and probably Pujols) did they luckily get it right on Trout?

How much of his salary would the Angels have to pay to make the deal?
