SF 49ers in mourning. three #1s and no Aaron Rodgers
the SF 49ers mgmt team are the big losers of draft week.

trade 3 #1s to get a guy who will not start and is known to be inaccurate.

now Rodgers is available.
if he spoke up a month ago sf gives green bay the 3 #1s and choice of garrapolo or a 3rd and SF is competitive now.

Rodgers isn't available. Packers are not trading him anytime soon. If they do, it will carry on into the season after he holds out a month or two..

It is interesting how everybody has forgot about Watson..

Certainly a risky move and even riskier selection. We shall see how it shakes out but they have great offensive minds to help develop Lance in a no immediate pressure situation.

Bears:

2017 traded first round pick, 2 third round picks, and a 4th round pick for Mitchell Trubisky

2018 drafted Roquan Smith 8th overall

2019 traded first round pick for Khail Mack

2020 traded first round pick for Khail Mack

2021 traded first round pick, fifth round pick, for Justin Fields

2002 traded first round pick, fourth round pick for Justin Fields.

As a Packer fan I might consider 3 #1's and Garrapolo but then I remember the Packers haven't drafted well for a decade or more. Meaning those 3 firsts would likely be out of the league in 4 years.

Pass.

Aaron could play catch all day with the tight end in San Fran.

Problem with any of these trades is that in order for GB to feasibly trade him, salaries aside, they are going to want to be able to say “we are comfortable with Love so we moved on”

If you take another QB back outside of a Watson/Wilson type, you’re basically proving Aaron Rodgers right the moment you make that trade

now now. that's so weak and negative.
they can trade those #1s and get proven vets. they cost more than new guys though.

I don't think there's any chance GB would trade Rodgers to another NFC team.

GB will come to regret not trading Rodgers for a brinks truck when he says frick it and retires.

Then again, they’re laughably bad at drafting first rounders which is why Rodgers hates them so much.

It’s amazing they’re not getting killed for the worst draft decisions in my lifetime. They traded all those assets and didn’t even know who they wanted. Then if they’d have kept them they could have agreed to draft who GB wants and traded them for Rodgers so easily on June 1

I doubt he’ll play a snap this year but I’ve been wrong a lot these last 6 months

They need to just fire anyone doing the draft. The teams like the Packers and Bills need to draft well to balance out their low appeal to free agents. Maybe that placate AR into staying, but even if it doesn't they are bad at their jobs and need to go.

Very smart take..... I would have done a deal with almost ANY team if this was announced a week before.

Rodgers is stubborn AF and will retire just to spite the GB execs. Would be hilarious if he got them to trade Love and he still retired

Ted Thompson wasn't nearly the Svengali many seem to claim. His biggest claim to fame was picking Rodgers, which was hardly a tough call when a guy that many thought would go #1 is sitting there at #23.

He was essentially allergic to free agents, other than Woodson who he got for a song and no one else wanted. And the no big name free agents mantra continues in Green Bay.

There hasn't been a need to deep dive in free agency, but picking a guy here or there to add an offensive threat likely would have had a decent impact. Yet they have never done it.

Right now Rodgers has Adams and a bunch of guys to throw to. After 14 years of it I don't blame him for being pissed.

eta-Green Bay doesn't have low appeal to free agents. They don't pursue them at all. Who wouldn't want to go to a team with a very good shot at a SB nearly every year?
