It's silly now because SEC teams do get a benefit of a doubt, but there was a time when SEC teams were passed over for bowls (at least a perception at minimum), so it behooved us in some respect that our conference won games so our team wouldn't suffer the same fate.
Now, I'm more indifferent up until other teams losing makes LSU's chances worse.

Yeah there are a few other SEC programs that I'll sympathize with or root for for personal reasons once in a while, but for the most part I don't root for rivals
