I put a deposit down on 6 seats 11 minutes from when they began accepting them and I'm #4070 on the list

They stopped accepting season ticket deposits after 30 minutes. There is tons of money and lots of demand for another professional team in Seattle, that's why.

I just find it ridiculous that the NHL has the same number of teams as the NFL and more teams than MLB and NBA. They’re closer to the MLS in popularity than the other top three leagues.

To get their team, Seattle’s owners—primarily private equity CEO David Bonderman and Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer—are paying a $650 million expansion fee, along with $700 million in mostly privately financed renovations to the arena, which was previously unsuitable for hockey.

I assume all of the money in canada props it up. It's also pretty big in the northeast and midwest

Except there are 7 teams in Canada that are more popular than pretty much any MLB or NBA team.

NHL attendance is about the exact same as NBA as well.

NHL outdraws the NBA in multiple big markets where there is a team from both leagues:

Chicago
Boston
Washington
Minnesota

Wonder if they'll get even more handouts than Vegas got.

Now the NHL needs to relocate the Arizona Coyotes and the Florida Panthers. Its seriously time. Nobody cares about either of those teams. If either of those teams moved, nobody in either city would even notice. Let Arizona move to either Houston, Portland or Salt Lake City. Let the Florida Panthers move to either Quebec, Milwaukee or Indianapolis.

If the arena renovations are good enough, I think the NBA would go back. The arena is the big issue, not the fan interest. Seattle was always a good NBA city.

If Arizona moves to Houston, I’m okay with this.

This X10, even the snowflake KD liked it which says a lot he would fit in nicely in a place like it.
