Where the hell's this stat? Now it just appears you're throwing around arbitrary numbers to prove Harden's better than LeGOAT this season.

quote:

Oh and at last glance harden was the best iso defender in the league. So the defense BS is just that.

If this is the case as you so claim, why the hell has James Harden never been named to an all-defense team in his career since he's supposed to have been "the best iso defender in the league?" Why is LeGOAT's 2018 DBPM and career DBPM WAYYY better than Harden's could even dream of being? Why is Harden's best DWS season identical to LeGOAT's career average? See this is the kind of bullshite you say that discredits you as a viable contributor to argument. Keep with the troll, my man.

OK.. But I would put Magic at #2... Just for the way he changed the game back in 1980.. He was A one of a kind talent that came along at the right time................

James Harden is on pace to be the fourth player in history to be all-time top 10 in WS/48 on a team that is top 10 all-time in SRS. The other 3, Kareem (70-71 Bucks) Jordan (95-96 Bulls) and Curry (2015-16 Warriors) all won MVP.

After averaging 34.9 points and 10.1 assists, James Harden has been named Western Conference Player of the Month! #Rockets

First time in 4 decades FYI

Best player on the team with the best record in the NBA? Check. Most points per game? Check. Second-most assists, fifth-most steals, most three-pointers? Check, check, and check. Harden's case for the MVP, right now, may be strong as it's ever been, and it's not just the counting stats — or his 26-point, 17-assist, 6-steal outing on Monday night — that give him the nod over the field. For the analytic crowd, Harden leads the league in usage, win shares (and win shares per 48 minutes),

#2 offense all time.
#2 WS/48 all time.

The facts are right there in front of ya bro.

Man I flip flop on that. LeBron and Magic are/were amazing. I think they’re interchangeable at times. Magic was pretty amazing.

Facts don’t troll bro. Idk if you are aware but nba has capabilities to track this stuff now.

James Harden is the best isolation defender in the NBA right now, per @SynergySST (minimum 25 possessions).

Magic had the capability to evolve as a player in terms of shooting the basketball but by the time he was about to fully realize that, HIV derailed his career it is what it is

And by the time Bird retired in ‘92 his back was shot. What’s the point you’re trying to make?

Only 5 teams in the last 5 years have averaged more than James Harden's current 10.6 isolation points per game mark. Harden is scoring 1.28 points per isolation possession. Only 1 NBA teams eclipses that on open catch & shoot jumpers this season.

Better than all but one team on open catch and shoots. But When he is guarded! one on one!

Not really much, I think Larry was a better all-around player than Magic: better shooter, better defender, better rebounder, better free-throw shooter. Also think about this: Larry Bird took a 29 win team his rookie season at age 22 and led them to IIRC the greatest turnaround in league history to 61 wins, a 32 win improvement. Now that's indicative of massive player impact, he was in ways LeGOAT before LeGOAT, the eye test agrees with that and the stats agree with that, Larry Joe Bird was not only the greatest clutch player of all-time, he was a finished product when he entered the league it was just that awesome.

Magic led his team to the Finals and a championship at 21...stepped in a played center when Kareem went down and:

Playing on the road, Johnson (a 6'9" rookie point guard) started the game at center and eventually played all five positions in a dominating performance. Scoring a game-high 42 points and grabbing a game-high 15 rebounds—and handing out seven assists— Johnson led the Lakers to the NBA crown

I can play that game too (this was Magic’s rookie year)

The year Kareem won his 6th and last MVP and probably should've been MVP of the Finals: 33-14-5 block AVERAGE. Look, I'm not arguing that Magic didn't elevate that team to a championship that season because he obviously did and to do so would be disingenuous, but he did enter an already-set team when he was drafted too we can't deny that I mean arguably the GREATEST PLAYER OF ALL-TIME was playing on that team and still at his peak. My thing is Larry Bird entered a fading franchise that was declining by the year and, in his rookie season, almost single-handedly revived them and elevated them to title contenders, that championship promise would be realized the following year but the point is Larry created that and, in so doing, created his own legend within arguably the most legendary franchise in professional sports. Magic stepped in and elevated that team to a world title and deserves credit for that but we have to assess it for what it is.
