There has been a lot of conjecture about the irreversible decline of the Cornhuskers much of which is backed by sound reasoning. But they did finish strong winning 4 of there last five and Frost has publicly called out players for lack of intensity.

Urban Meyer said this at the BIG championship:

quote:

“I tell you what, the Nebraska coach, Nebraska team, you can see what's happening there. They're going to be very good

Can Frost beat the odds and turn it around? I think he just might.

Beat the odds? He made UCF undefeated.

Pretty sure he can do the same at Nebraska.

I'd be very excited if I were a Nebraska fan. Although, I wouldn't expect much until year 3.

He needs another season or two but they’ll be winning the Big Ten West soon. Although that division is shite so he may do it sooner.

He’s going to make Nebraska into a monster.

#25 the safety for Nebraska looks like a helluva player but I think he was a senior this year.

watched them play Michigan St. a few weeks ago and granted Mich. State's offense mostly sucks, he was flying around making plays.

one thing about it, their fans will fill the seats no matter what for a home game. So in a way i'm glad for them that they look to be headed in the right direction.

Recruiting is much tougher, and Nebraska won't be able to get away with decades of blatant steroid use like they did under Tom Osborne.

I think their baseline will be about what Wisconsin is with a slightly higher ceiling every few years. No reason they can’t be in the big 10 title game regularly.

Nebraska's a hard sell in today's college football landscape.

I've been to Lincoln...it's a blip on the radar and yet bigger than most everything else in Nebraska. Not an exciting place to be for kids from Miami or Los Angeles.

Nebraska needs to be a power to get kids...problem is getting to that stage.

IF Frost can get the ball rolling, Nebraska could start rolling again...problem is getting it started...kids don't care about what happened in 1971 or even 1995.

Nebraska needs to be relevant and great to get the kids to go to farm country. It's the cart before the horse problem. Frost needs to get 1 or 2 special classes that totally buy in and love him and don't care about spending 4 years in Lincoln. Then all the 4-stars will start going there like they do with all the hot teams as glory hunters.

Nebraska is like Tennessee. Teams that were once great that will never be back.

I know the first year record sucks but he got that team to play at a much higher level than the first few games. Martinez is also a very good QB.

I don't think they'll go back to the old days but they'll compete for B10 championships/NY6 games here and there.

Won't happen, he'll make them better but they won't even dominate the BIG West. Nebraska is incredibly weak on the offensive and defensive lines. They got pushed around by Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, even Purdue. The style of offense Frost plays and his lack of developing a strong defense will be his downfall in the Big Ten.

I think Nebraska going forward will be a lot better than Tennessee.

I think everybody should listen to paradigm, on what he has to say about the Nebraska football program. He knows all.

Not really hes a welching asshat and owes me 100 bucks.

You can't expect to have a program turn around in one year. Even Saban did pretty bad his first year at Bama until he was able to install a culture and recruit.

Exactly. People forget that Saban lost to ULM his first year at Bama.

Huskers played some very good football the last half of the season. I can easily see Frost turning the program into a consistent top 15 team.

No team improved more from week 1 to week 12 than Nebraska did. They're going to be very, very good.

I knew Saban would fail at Alabama when he lost to to ULM in year one. In other words, year one doesn’t count. Frost will be fine.

No, I don't think so.

Monster? No. Nebraska can't recruit like Michigan / Ohio State / Penn State can. The Cornhuskers will always have a talent deficit.

Nebraska won't be an easy out, though. Given 10 years, I'd bet Frost has 1-3 'magical seasons.' I can see him dragging a team to the CFP, possibly even winning one if he has the right kind of QB for his system.

Scott Frost is proof of what great coaching can do. If you can get the most out of people and get them in the right direction, you can achieve great things.

Recruiting class is #22 right now and they just flipped wandale robinson from kentucky.

They may not be 70s or 90s Nebraska, but to think they wont be a good program is ridiculous.
