Obviously waiting until NE's season is done, but of course rumor was he was the favorite for NYG job. He and the Lions GM, Bob Quinn, worked in NE.

New England Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, though linked to the New York Giants' job, is likely to become the next head coach of the Detroit Lions, league sources told ESPN.
Patricia and the Lions still need to agree to and work out the contract details after the Patriots' season ends.
Assuming the two sides can do that, Patricia then would become the Lions' next head coach, reuniting with former Patriots personnel man and current Lions general manager Bob Quinn.
New England also is expected to lose offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who is a finalist for both the Colts' and Giants' head-coaching jobs, per sources.

Well that will likely be the last HC job he ever has.

This means the Giants gig will still be open??
Hmmmm who might be interested in that gig? To the CC board I go. Chicken don't shutter down yet

I’m just gonna be real, he doesn’t look like “Head Coach material” He’s got “Career Assistant written all over him”

Just because he has a beard and wears a backwards hat?

I agree. I think to be a head man you have to command respect and not just be one of the bros. Especially in your first HC role. I think he’s gonna have to class it up a bit.

I saw an article a week or two ago that actually said Patricia or Vrabel might be too tough for the Lions after Caldwell's comatose approach.

If I were him, I'd take the Lions job.

He's Bill Bellicheck with a beard and hat.

y'all think he can't command respect because he has a beard?

Ehh it looks like he grooms it up a bit when the situation presents itself. It’s not like he needs to smooze and recruit. If he puts his team in a position to win that’s all that really matters.

I honestly hope Matt Patricia doesn't change a damn thing about himself when he becomes a head coach.

What minority candidate did they interview though??
Posted on 1/14/18 at 12:14 pm to Jizzy08
They interviewed their past DC Teryl Austin (who I actually think is a very good coach)

I've read somewhere he's supposed to be somewhat of a borderline genius

Patricia looks like he gets high and eats Taco Bell and plays COD all day

Good for him honestly. Dude is getting his shot.
Didn’t he start from the bottom with the Pats?
