So, he showed up drunk to practice, went missing, Haden couldn't find him or get in touch with him, fired him through his agent, and they just said on ESPN that no one knows where he is...

This is not going to end well.

So they fired him and didnt bother to even notify him?

I'm sorry but Haden has to go.

Haden could have salvaged this by just having him sit the year out at the beginning of the year and then "Amicably" separated from him at the end of the season; however he decided not to and has in turned enabled a sick guy to poison himself, the program, and the players.

Adam Rittenberg ? @ESPNRittenberg
Haden said he spent two hours trying to talk to Sarkisian. Called his agent, his sister. Still hopes to talk to Sark.
12:58 PM - 13 Oct 2015

So....his sister doesn't know where he is either?

Am I reading that correctly?

What part of whereabouts unknown do you not understand? He is missing and could not be located, so they had to resort to notifying his handler.

He's not good at the firing with dignity thing. He kicked Kiffin off the bus and now he's lost his other coach.

Probably passed out in a dank Tijuana back alley covered in half-eaten tacos and empty bottles of tequila...

Why do we really need to know where he is? If he is at a facility I believe in confidentiality. Also there are things, such as illnesses and diseases that truly are nobodies business but the immediate family.

The sister could be instructed to say I do not know where he is, as can the agent.

Can't say you "care" about the guy and then not even bother to fire him face to face like a man.

sometimes i question if these are really the people that should be the leaders of young men. Times like this are supposed to show leadership and I dont see any.

I hope that's true, but you'd think he would drop someone a line if that was the case, and why does an announcement like that need an anonymous source. That's what agents are for. They draft press releases for shite like this.

then you dont fire him yet. The interim head coach had been put in place. Make sure hes okay-- that man, despite his benders and how embarrassed that whole program, has done alot for that program in the last 15 years. They wouldnt have much of their past success without him. He seems to have a serious substance abuse problem, and if they are in the business of leading young men and showing them how to do things "the right way", then they ought to handle their firings and such "the right way". The student athletes are watching.

Make sure hes okay, gets the help he needs, and then separate from him "amicably" at the end of the season. That kills the media storm and PR hit they are taking right now.

They don't have cell phone service in Lost Causes.

Haden has botched a lot of things, but uh, if someone cannot even report to work -- they have to go.

We're just on two different wavelengths concerning this, and there's nothing wrong with that I suppose. Agree to disagree. If this were me, My "boss" would have terminated me and not thought twice about it before moving on to searching for a new candidate. I don't understand the whole "It's horrible they didn't wait a completely unknown amount of time for him to wake the frick up and make himself known to society before firing him and move on."

You talk about leadership and taking care of the "young men", well good for Hayden for acting with strength to separate that drunk from the program and immediately moving on so that they don't have to be around the alcoholic anymore.
