Instead of the Big Apple, Derek Carr is heading to New Orleans. The Saints are closing in on a four-year deal with the former Pro Bowl quarterback, according to NFL Media Monday.

Recent reports suggested that Jets were the frontrunners to land Carr. Yet the Saints, who had been in the running to acquire him from the beginning, managed to lure the offseason's top available quarterback.

quote:

The Raiders' all-time career passing leader, Carr was a four-time Pro Bowl selection during his nine years with the franchise. A league MVP candidate prior to getting hurt late in the 2016 season, Carr led the Raiders to the franchise's only two playoff appearances since 2002.

If Rodgers heads back to GB, the Jets might have to settle for Jimmy G at this point.

Could be worse. You could have signed Carson Wentz.

Good move. Saints are in no position to draft a legit QB in the forsebale future unless they actively tanked.

I just checked my bank account and it looks like they didn’t ask us for any money.

I'm not mad at this, more like neutral because I have no idea what he can and cannot do.

Not a fan at all. Saints are just wasting time from a hard reset. Carr is a nice QB option but Saints are way more than a QB away from contention.

There are so many crazy facts in this quote.

1- Carr is the Raiders All-time Career Passing Leader

2- Carr was a 4-Time Pro Bowler

3- A League MVP Candidate

5- The Raiders (Commitment to Excellence) have only been to the playoffs TWICE in 20+ years

So fricking stupid. Poor man’s CSP system with a poor man’s Drew Brees.

They simply refuse to take their cap medicine.

Draft Hooker and Car's number one priority is mentoring him while doing enough on the field to keep fans engaged.

The chiefs moved up 18 spots to draft a qb they loved. You can always move up unless it’s some can’t miss kinda guy.

Just like the Saints kick the can on the salary cap, they’re now delaying finding a long-term solution at QB that can win more than one playoff game, and even that’s a stretch. Terrible signing.

This isn't the year to look for a qb in the draft anyway
