Smart move. I'd rather have him over any QB in this draft.

I'm thinking it was some kind of package deal and it shouldn't cost the Texans much in the draft.

He's been in the league for three years now under Brady. I think he has a higher ceiling than any of the other QBs in this draft. Second, O'Brien was the QB coach in NE and probably has an idea of what he is getting. Finally, [and I hate to use this cliche] Houston is in a win now element. Mallet in the right offense could be the piece they are missing.

Now lets see if Houston has the balls to pick Mack over Clowney.

Mallet could be Farve-esque or he could be Schaub-esque. My money is on Schaub-esque.

If New England is drafting a QB to backup Brady and trading Mallet, it'll be a McCarron/Savage/Jimmy G type.

Mallet to the Texans for Houston's 2nd, 4th, and a future 4th.

I won't judge until I see what they gave up.

The Houston Texans would be giving up too much for a complete unknown...

well that is an extremely wide range. Schaub suffered from the fact that he couldn't win the big game. I think O'Brien knows what he's getting with Mallet in this situation.

Hey, not saying I'd make that trade. Just throwing out guesses on what they'd give up.
