Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, soccer star Megan Rapinoe and three-time WNBA champion Sue Bird will preside over the two-hour broadcast airing June 21 on ESPN. All three live in the Seattle area. Rapinoe and Bird are partners who share a household, which conveniently eases some logistics. Wilson's singer-wife, Ciara, is likely to make an appearance, too.

"We liked the idea of having athletes from diverse sports that represent something for every fan," show producer Jeff Smith said by phone. "We're finding ways to make this feel really connected to the audience. They're so ready to reach out to this community."

yep you really covered all the bases here. There's football and then two sports no one watches... so something for everyone!

I'll be honest, I wasn't going to watch anyway. This definitely seals the deal though

Glad to see ESPN has finally figured out what the public is asking for in sports entertainment

If you want diverse sports reps, then a lineup of

Pete Weber
Jeanette Lee
Johnny Chan

beats the hell out of Rapinoe

So the buzz of pissing off a segment of your viewing audience is worth more than not pissing off a segment of your viewing audience?

Nobody else is either

Ratings have dropped for years as they pull more and more dumbshit

Network shows that get cancelled after three episodes have more viewers and the ESPYS is on ABC
