Nothing solid yet, but respected posters with good track records on multiple different team boards all started threads tonight saying there was a breakthrough and an announcement could be coming soon

Would it take effect for the 2022 season?

Instead of dropping, they need to bring back the GOAT Leaders and Legends divisions

Just made it harder for Michigan to get into the playoffs.

Lol. It was so funny when they thought those names were a good idea and basically got national embarrassment and decided to change the names

I thought it was fine, but people simply couldn't stand divisions that aren't based on geographical alignment.

I don't like scrapping divisions when you don't even play four of the teams.

It had nothing to do with geography and everything to do with sounding like pretentious douche bags when this sad sack of shite conference hasn't done anything in the last 2 decades outside of Ohio St.

It had more to do with the big ten hard on leaning into the stereotype of them being pretentious assholes

Like whoever came up with that idea 100% puts michigan man on his resume

Exactly. It’s not a level playing field when that is the case.

It's also not a level playing field being in the B1G East or SEC West.

The last Conference that had a level playing field was the old PAC10 and their round-robin. Also it left little room to schedule 3 rent-a-wins per team a year like the SEC always has.

We can't all get in on the hardcore MACtion every year. That was reserved for Leaders and Legends.

As for the new SEC, I don’t care how they place teams as long as LSU gets to play Ole Miss, Texas, A&M and Bama yearly. The rest I can take playing every other year.

As a tiger fan in Texas I want trips to Austin and CS. Preferably every other year. That way one year we go to Austin Then next CS. Still want Oxford and Tuscaloosa of course.

It makes the most sense honestly. Each team has 3 conference mates(rivals) to play every year and rotate the rest.

Well, that’s not happening. LSU will not have 4 permanent opponents. The SEC likely will have 3 permanent opponents. It’s probable LSU will play Ole Miss and Texas A&M every year. And then it’s probably Alabama or Florida for the third.

I still think 4 pods is the way to be the most fair while also playing your rivals and other teams in the conference.

You play every team in your pod (3 games)
You play another pod that rotates every year (4 games)
Last week you play in the semifinals against the same ranked team from a pod you haven't played that also rotates every year (1 game)
The two teams that were #1 in their pod and won their semifinal games play in the CCG (1 game)

This also allows you to play four non-conference games.
