Dolphins DL William Hayes tore his ACL, he’s out for the season. Big loss. It happened when he tried not to put his body weight on Derek Carr while sacking him and got his foot caught in the ground.

Adam Gase said it based on what Hayes told him and the video supports their version. Hayes was a force in the front four on a 3-0 Dolphins team going to New England this week...not that the Patriots aren't missing anyone.

Seems like a stretch to correlate the two, but any negative publicity that the new rule receives will be good in the long run.

If you watch the play it's pretty obvious he landed awkwardly in an attempt to not land completely on Carr

Dont get me wrong or misunderstand me, i detest the new rules myself, but that replay doesnt really tell me anything other than guys are too big and their ligaments and tendons cant handle their weight.

Didnt look as bad as it ended. Some ACL injuries mystify me.

The entire front four could tear their ACL, but as long as starting QBs finish the season, the NFL is getting what it wanted.

The NFL is turning into a shitty government, never taking into account the horrible side effects of new laws.

Are you watching the same replay? It’s pretty obvious he sticks out his right leg out awkwardly to catch himself from not landing on Carr. Sucks but had he not been worrying about landing “most of his body weight in the QB” he wouldn’t have torn his ACL

Im trying too hard here.

Yes, he was injured because he consciously was aware and attempted to not get a penalty.

I am wrong. It is obvious that is why he got hurt. Rules is total BS. Changing the game completely.

Which is stupid. The league rose to its popularity without these ridiculous rules. The eyeballs will be there with or without one star QB. These rules are there solely to protect the idiot owners who sink so much of their salary capped payroll into one asset. The fans want violence.

Its about QB safety/money/ratings. That's the only shite they worried about.

Yep. And the next week the league rolled on and just as many eyeballs were on TV sets. Did the league survive when the Colts lost Bert Jones? How about Dan Marino's catastrophic Achilles heel rupture? The Rams shut down their franchise when they lost Trent Green for the season, right? No? They carried on?

If every single QB suffers a season ending injury next week you know what will happen the following week? People will still tune in.

Take the one aspect of NFL football away that distinguishes it from every other major professional sport - violence - and it will be a shell of itself in 10 years.
