@AdamSchefter: As @MikeGarafolo reports, a disc issue in Rob Gronkowski's back is being examined and could require surgery. This does not sound good...

@AdamSchefter: Rob Gronkowski's back issue considered minor, per source. If he needs surgery it'd be during time frame that he'd be out with arm surgery.

@AdamSchefter: Quote from person close to Gronk: "He is going to be fine long term. (He is) not worried about the short term, I.e. start of training camp."

This after his 4th arm surgery (which was expected due to the infection he suffered)

This has been expected for months

The surgery is to remove the plate and to see if the infection is gone

If the infection is gone he will be back for the start of training camp

ETA didnt read the thread obviously

The back surgery, if it occurs, is expected to happen within three-to-four weeks after the upcoming surgery on his forearm, which currently is set for Monday.

The timetable could hinge on whether the infection is indeed gone from Gronkowski’s forearm. If it is, he’ll need only one more surgery (the fourth) on his arm, and then the back surgery would be able to proceed.

If the surgery is still there (doctors currently believe it isn’t), a fifth surgery on the arm may be needed. Which could delay the back surgery.

You can start this thread,

The league announced that Seahawks defensive end Bruce Irvin has been suspended four games for violating the league’s policy on performance enhancing substances.

He can still take part in offseason workouts, training camp and the preseason, but won’t be eligible to play until after their Sept. 29 game against the Texans.

“I want to apologize to my teammates, coaches and Seahawks fans for making a mistake when I took a substance that is prohibited in the NFL without a medical exemption,” Irvin said in a statement released by the team. “I am extremely disappointed in the poor judgment I showed and take full responsibility for my actions. I will not appeal the discipline and instead will focus my energy on preparing for the season so I can begin earning your trust and respect again. I look forward to contributing to the team the moment I return.”

Yeah, I saw a tweet by Adam Shefter, but figured someone else would eventually do it.

I might have to.

Graham missed 3 games with an ankle injury, and also had an issue with his wrist which needed surgery.

5th arm surgery and then back surgery (if either happens) does he miss most of training camp? Especially since speculation is back surgery would take place 3/4 weeks after arm (having 4th this week so 5th probably would t be till next month correct?)
