While UGA is a big fish in a talent rich pond, they have Clemson, FSU and Auburn less than 25 miles from the state border, which is just an arbitrary line on a map. Tennessee, Florida and S. Carolina aren't that far either. Just about any in-state recruit UGA targets, they will be quickly flanked by a nearby traditional power.

The other side of this is that UGA is also well-positioned to recruit in Florida, the Carolinas, Alabama, Tennessee, etc. The Atlanta airport is also an advantage for recruiting nationally relative to some other SEC schools.

Just head to Tuscaloosa and look at the dealerships.

Too easy.

If all Bama players are getting is a car, then they are being ripped off.

BS

These players still grow up in this state and the majority of
4 and 5 star recruits are in the metro Atlanta area with a decidedly pro UGA fan base and media.

No school in the country has a better in-state recruiting advantage.

umm... LSU does... per capita, LA puts out the most NFL talent, and LSU is the ONLY big program in LA, with the next two programs being La Tech and Tulane (ULL is right there, but not quite above Tulane yet..)

Umm...no it doesn't.Georgia produces almost 3 times as many blue Chip propspects (40 to 15 in 2019) and almost the same amount of top 150 prospects as California.

BTW GT is our only "in-state" competition.

Stop with the "per Capita" argument (Ga is 3rd BTW) it really doesn't matter if producing almost 3 times the prospects.

I lived in Georgia for a decade. There are TONS of transplants from all over. The old joke was that nobody was "from" Atlanta, they just lived there.

I'm not saying UGA doesn't have an advantage, just that it's not the same as pulling a kid out of Mississippi, Alabama or Louisiana. The pipelines have leaks and the community fabric is frayed.

Perhaps but having almost 3 times as many prospects as those other states somewhat negates the "transplant" issue. Also,CKS has been able to pull kids from all those states...something CMR almost never did.

As Crow stated Georgia is also centrally located and boarders 5 states.

Not sure you can name another school that has a better recruiting situation.Maybe UF because of the shite shows going on at FSU and Miami.

Bama is the hub. UGA is the attention bringer. Smart learned from the best but isnt as meticulous and as smart as Saban.

Clemson's rise has to raise eyebrows but again they have it down so well and so innocent looking that it doesn't raise eyebrows. Then you have upstarts just trying to keep up. Then you have Michigan. Harbaugh doesn't have careful in his genes. Oregon will always get attention and the Nike link just begs for eyes. Of course I can't leave out my own LSU. If the history of politics doesn't lead you to the conclusion that there has to be dirt then you aren't being honest. Politicians love LSU football too.
