The board today has started the process to fire Rick Pitino. Pitino's attorney issued the school with a breach of contract notice.

The big sleazy going all in.

I applaud this dude's audacity.

Get that money, Dick Pitino.

Well his contract runs another 8 or 9 years at 5 million/year. It's not like he'd just walk away from 45 million dollars

What choice does Louisville have, if they keep him the NCAA's punishment might be the death penalty.

No basketball program for a period of time vs lawsuit from Pitino

He's hoping for a settlement. If I'm Louisville, I'm going all in on Discovery.

I dont see the problem here. If what the article says is correct, they aren't following the guidelines set in his contract regarding his suspension.

There’s no other logical outcome.
Option 1: he is guilty of everything which indicates he has the lack of integrity which would lead to a breach of contract suit under these circumstances.
Orion 2: He is innocent of these charges and is being unjustly fired and deprived of $45MM. In which case any one of us would do the same.
Now of course we all know option 2 isn’t true. So back to the morals/ethics angle.

I am not surprised that the situation has come to this, but nonetheless:

He's a scumbag but nobody walks away from 40 million dollars when you know the university will slide something your way to keep quiet.

I know, I know

Last names always make me think of each other, and Petrino is still scummy. But you're right, not at the levels of Pitino.

The Italian restaurant bang out and subsequent abortion/payment for abortion is a top 3 sleazy college coach story. The only one worse I can think of off the top of my head is Bliss and the drug dealer
