Of course. If he was even decent, the Packers would have told Rodgers to gtfo.

Disastrous pick. On the cusp of the SB and you take a bust qb while having one of the best to ever do it with plenty left in the tank.

I would give like a 6th AT BEST for Jordan Love
The Saints wasted Brees's prime career with horrible drafts... but the Packers aren't even trying for Rodgers.

The Steelers ain't trading for him. And hopefully the Falcons don't either. Now Washington......

A guy like Claypool or Pittman could have been just enough to get them to a SB in one of the past 2 seasons.

1. Move up and reach to take this guy in the first round
2. Fail to get Rodgers another weapon and piss him off in the process
3. Love shows that he is very likely not an NFL starter
4. Trade for probably a 3rd or 4th pick a couple years later

Some stellar GM work right there

Let me call my buddy who is an expert on wasting draft picks on a QB when you already have a Hall-of-Famer who has plenty of good years in front of him.

Draft picks can be hit or miss, to be sure. But EVERYONE knew this was a bad idea at the time for exactly all of the reasons you listed above.

Exactly, it’s one thing to reach on a QB when you are in dire need. If that doesn’t pan out, then so be it. But everything about this was an awful decision.

I will admit as a packer fan that I was also pissed about the Dillon pick in round 2. I was wrong about that.

They must feel pretty good about Rodgers coming back if they are shopping the backup.

They are bringing back Tom Clements as the QB coach. I gotta believe this is a direct request of Rodgers or at least a strong move to entice him.

The guy is 68 and has been retired for a couple years. Can’t see him agreeing to get back into coaching at that age to develop some new guy.

The Packers did exactly what everyone in media was clamoring for the Saints to do.

Good luck getting more than a 4th or 5th round pick back for him. Stupid pick.
