We blew the engine! Hurry up and replace the slightly leaky tire.

It's ironic how Riggleman quit on the Nationals right before they became really good due to Rizzo's refusal to remove the interim tag. Now, he's an interim manager for the worst team in baseball. Life comes at you fast.

Tony La Russa and a pet rock would win the same amount of games with that roster

Rizzo is a bitch. We loved Riggleman in DC. He deserved the job.

Look, this team wasn't going to be in a playoff spot, but they aren't 3-15 bad either.

The players stopped responding to Price, he had to go, they needed a change.

Unfortunately alot of times you need a manager to get you through the meaty part of a rebuild and you need a different guy to pull you out. Price new this when he took the job.

Yeah I'm not saying this is some good team.

But they look uninterested and non shite giving. Unacceptable for a rebuild. Riggs will at least get them to compete and show some life.

This. We're not a playoff team but we're not a 3-15 team either. Price had to go and this was 100% the right move.

I hate this excuse, and that's all it is. I don't just get to stop "responding" to my boss. If I did, it damn sure wouldn't be my boss that was told to hit the road.

Whatever shitty job you have is way more replaceable than MLB baseball player.

It's not remotely the same comparison.

Scott Schebler is joining the team friday back from the disabled list.. so look out lol

He probably won't make a difference but I went to school with him and he is a great guy. Root for him even if you dislike the redlegs.

Supposedly, Votto has asked management to move him. Which is a first, JV has always been a team player and accepted the rebuild, but i think he sees the light, this ain't no 5-7 year fix.

So where they not tipped off to these problems before or during spring training?

It's hard to feel any sympathy for baseball players on losing teams. Votto should have insisted on an opt-out when he signed that long-term contract if he didn't want to risk being in a losing situation. It's a two-way street. If baseball players want 100% guaranteed contracts, they need to hold up their end of the bargain as well when they're stuck in less than ideal situations.

Who do you think eventually takes over? We hired John Farrell in the offseason, I think he'd be a candidate. Larkin seems to want the job as well.

Reddman and I were talking, not really sure. We both don't want an old dude.

It would be nice to get some young blood in the org.
