I was listening to the most recent Simmons podcast with Russillo on. They talked about the Celtics/Blazers matchup and Simmons admitted that he now believes Lillard is better than Kyrie. Russillo goes on to say he’s always believed it (though RR has been one of the guys who’s never bought the Kyrie hype).

RR from what I’ve heard sounds like he watches a ton of NBA where Simmons tunes in here and there outside of his Celtics and marquee games. My reasoning on Simmons is that he put Kemba Walker off his All Nba 3rd team in favor of the likes of Kyle Lowry simply because Kemba doesn’t win. RR paints him into a corner and asks him to name the 2nd and 3rd options on the Hornets

Anyway, I kinda know this board’s thoughts on some of these dudes.

1. Curry
2. Westbrook
3. Lillard
4. Walker
5. Kyrie

I'd flip Kyrie and Kemba, but this is a good list.

You are missing Chris you would be crazy to take Westbrook over Chris.

CP3 for 60 games or Westbrook for 80.

I love cp3s game, but dude is a walking injury. Ontop of that, Westbrook actually played defense this year as well.

Westbrook and Kyrie are great talents but they both tend to get erratic at times.

I don't know where to rank Westbrook anymore. He's had a really weird year (shot % down across the board) while allowing 4 guys on his squad to have the best seasons of their careers, including PG13.

Tough to gauge. Curry still off the charts though.

Not only has Chris Paul missed a quarter of the season or more for three years running, his efficiency has also dipped a good amount this season- all of his advanced stats are down. I fear this may be the beginning of the end for CP3 as an elite player. His decline has been a big factor in the Rockets turning the "sleepwalk to 60" season into a "maybe we'll hit 50 if we finish strong" season.

if you look at Chris in the 15 games since he has been back he is probably better than he was last year when he lead the league in rpm. Chris ain’t a guy who will give you 80 games you will get 60 and at season’s beginning you get Chris at about 50% effort. So you can’t really go off the season averages with Chris. No I can’t say Chris is a big factor if is more of they just didn’t care early in the season. They know they are gonna be matched up with gsw for all the marbles since before the season started. if you notice since the hardwn 28 point game streak started there are only 2 teams with a better record. And they have endured lots of injures over that time frame. Chris injury happened and then hardwn and co said let’s crank it up and get it going and well you see the results.

ETA: actually my math maybe was wrong I think only one team has been better over the last 38 (start of hardwn 28 point streak)
