I mean, lots of MVP voters are that way. Kobe once won as a career achievement award of sorts.

there are lots of voters like that. That’s how the criteria changes every year. Lebron will get about 10% of first place votes. Which is too many, imo, but still it won’t be close.

That is why it is more of an honor to be in the discussion every year, than it is to win any one year. Voters are fickle.
