Quietly, Andre Drummond is suddenly a 78% free throw shooter

He changed his form - now he looks like an old man shooting at the YMCA.

Shooting 78% this year from the free throw line. Shot 80% during the preseason. With all of the storylines in the NBA so far, Drummond is quietly stepping up his game from a very disappointing year last year, and leading the pistons to a 6-3 record, including road wins over Golden State and LAC.

I'd like to see is this sustainable or will he just go back to bricking it up.

Preseason plus regular season - he has shot around 60 free throws. Not sure if he can sustain in the mid to high 70s, but his days in the mid 30s are over.

Detroit winning at Golden State is pretty damn crazy. GS is more susceptible to those kind of losses this year, it appears.

That nasal surgery he had in the offseason has contributed to his increase overall play as well. He seems to be putting in more effort and is on the court longer.

How is it possible for an nba player to shoot below 40% from the line

And then double it in an offseason.

That's nuts.

So damn early but the Pistons have been one of several early surprises in the league.

He isn't going back to sub 40%...his form is totally different...with the biggest difference being that the ball is softly hitting the rim...not fricking clanking off of it like a brick.
