QB situation at Minnesota is really tough for PJ Fleck

There is not a QB in their roster that has even one minute of experience, and he has been forced to start a walk on true freshman who wasn’t even a starter his last year in high school. He announced today he will be the starter

People expect Minnesota to be third worst big ten team besides Illinois and Rutgers

If PJ fleck goes 3-9 or 4-8 this year like ppl expect based on how bad the offense is supposed to be, how do LSU fans like draconian sanctions who were screaming from the rooftops to hire him spin it?

Why did Fleck go there? Because of the TV series Coach?

Didn’t Fleck tell BTN they were both going to play. I know Mason said something about it.

I’d rather swing for the fences and strike out than go for a bunt with no outs in the 1st inning and no runners on base

So he started at IMG last fall and had scholarship offers from other BCS schools as well. Ranked 31 pocket passer in the country per 247

quote:

Though he is a preferred walk-on at the U, Annexstad turned down scholarship offers from Illinois, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati to attend his beloved hometown school, where his brother, Brock, is a receiver and earned a scholarship last weekend. Their father, Scott, was a Gophers lineman in the early 1980s and had a stint in the NFL.

Why did Fleck go there?

He said he wanted to coach in the Big Ten and win a championship there. I think he's genuinely more motivated to do the unexpected at places like Minnesota and Western Michigan than take a huge job with ready-made expectations.

Maybe that'll change one day, but he even admitted he almost stayed in Kalamazoo because the Minnesota job scared him.

The SEC has to recruit Big Ten castoffs because they can't develop quarterbacks

Hey Kosmo, do you believe the burrow hype among LSU fans is warranted?

Didn’t really follow his time at OSU and whether fans and coaches truly thought he was best QB on team like many LSU fans claim

“This is a sleeping giant,” Fleck says. “It’s just been sleeping for the last 60 years. We want to be that bridge that connects that. That’s what inspires me. These types of jobs create my energy every day. I don’t know if I fit well with something that’s already built. I don’t fit with that. I love to run into the fire.”

“I’m not here simply to win games,” Fleck adds. “I came here to build a culture. There’s a big difference between winning games and building a culture.”

Yep, hilarious.

He may WANT to be there but, agreed. Every new coach ever hired has said something similar to that.

Hadn’t Minnesota gone to 5 straight bowl games? I mean it wasn’t like they were completely trash. If Kill doesn’t have the seizures he’s probably still there and had 6 bowls in a row.
