Allen is winning, but obviously has a ceiling, and that ceiling is considerably lower than Cam's, but Cam is a borderline head case right now and can't stay healthy. Do we play Allen until he loses or do we throw Cam back in as soon as he's healthy?

Whatever injuries Newton is dealing with, Allen is giving them the luxury to not rush him back.

Cam is entering the last year of his contract that expires at end of 2020.

This could be some considerable cap value to not have to pay Cam 35-40 million per season when they have a rookie contract getting similar results. If he has any drama about getting a new deal entering next year, I'd let him go and use that money elsewhere to build a super bowl caliber roster.

Cam is most likely down in Carolina.

He’ll probably be a great asset for the team that picks him up.

I agree. I'm just not sure whether Allen is that good, or the quality of competition he's faced is that bad.

Will Auburn fans change their favorite team from Carolina?

Well, you did beat the Texans on the road, which is worth something.

I still can't put a finger on Jax.

Carolina's schedule really works out well. A bye after this London game, @49er, Titans, @GB, Falcons, @Saints, Redskins, @Falcons.

No back-to-back road trips the rest of the way, and some very winnable games at home between some rough road trips to SF, GB, and NOLA.

It’s not 2015 anymore. Present day Cam is bad.

meanwhile... in the famed words of Dennis Green... Jameis Winston is who we thought he is

even the QB whisperer can't fix that train wreck

Cam will be starting for another team in 2020. Probably the Bengals, Broncos or maybe even the Titans

A QB has to be a Jamarcus-level disaster not to get another try once they get cut.

Cam will catch on somewhere. I just think he is done, quality-wise, unless he sees a massive improvement in his throwing shoulder or improvements in his decision-making.

I don’t see what the dilemma is if you’re a Panthers fan. Allen is better than Cam at this point.

I thought that they had a terrible roster and the lack of playmakers was the only thing keeping cam from being the GOAT

funny, in all your op, you never once mention the most important matter of football. Football is business. Which qb can put more butts in the seats, more eyes on tv, sell more merchandise for the foreseeable future. These are the criteria that will determine the dilemma. Head case doesn't matter. Winning is secondary.

Throw Cam back in as soon as he’s healthy. Allen won’t win us the NFC South or take us the super bowl.

Why do people keep saying this? Cam has hit his ceiling. He is average at best right now and some team is gonna waste a lot of money on a guy who isn't a leader and gets very little out of the talent God gave him.
