Predict what happens with Jimmy G and T.Lance next year.

Jimmy goes to the Pats or Jets for a low number to compete for a starting job.
Lance stays on as a backup.

No. Purdry looked like Joe Montana today… he fits I perfect. Teams have had tons of tape on this guy.

Calm your jets, he hit guys who were wide open. But, he underthrew some balls and/or threw them late. I think they will crush whatever opponent next week, but the NFC Championship and Super Bowl will require a better level.

Purdy was great in training camp, which is why they kept him on. How do you keep him from starting if he's the best QB in next season's training camp?

I mean if he beats out Lance, then yeah you start him, but the OP made it sound like you have to enter next season with him as the unquestioned starter.

Well then you bench him when he comes back to Earth but you can’t possibly play Lance ahead of him next year to start.

Purdy IS jimmy g except 8 years younger and a hell of a lot cheaper. Lance will be a backup until they can move him.

Jimmy is with a different team. Lance is the starter with a short leash.

Except they aren't anything alike. Purdy is much more mobile and goes through his progressions better already. Jimmy throw a better ball at this point, but part of that is because Jimmy usually waits for a throw he likes.
