Post Your Team's Dream Draft Scenario
Posted on 4/22/13 at 2:00 pm

Eagles fan, and here's how I would like it to play out for the Birds:
1st - Dion Jordan, OLB
Of all the guys in this draft, I think Jordan has the most upside to become an impact defender. He's an athletic freak that's scary versatile. I'm leery of the Jags taking him at 2, but if he falls past there, the Eagles should be able to get him at 4, if not even move back slightly and take him.
Others: Ziggy Ansah, Star Lotulelei, Tavon Austin
2nd - Cornelius Carradine, DE
Jordan immediately upgrades the LB core, but there's serious need for a 5-tech DE to play up front. Carradine has top 10 talent, and he may not even fall this far, but he'd be my ideal pick.
Others: Matt Elam, Jonathan Cyprien, Jesse Williams, Justin Pugh, Kyle Long, John Hankins
3rd - Gavin Escobar, TE
This is a blend of what I want plus what I think the Eagles will do. They've met with and scouted just about every receiving-first TE in the draft, but I think Escobar is the most interesting. He's got size and sick hands to go with good athleticism. The Eagles already have Brent Celek and they signed James Casey to be the h-back, but Kelly loves his weapons and neither of them have this type of athletic upside. Escobar gives the Eagles more size on offense, which they need.
Others: Marquise Goodwin, John Jenkins
4th - Matt Scott, QB
I don't buy the Geno hype, and while I like Manuel, I think he'll go before the Eagles get a chance to grab him. Scott has NFL tools but played in an offense that greatly inhibited him (from an NFL perspective). He can run, but he's not Pat White/Denard Robinson. Scott can actually throw the ball well. That's the type of guy I see Kelly wanting to ultimately build around.
Summary: I'd like to get a NT for the future and there's definitely a few that fit the bill. I don't see the Eagles taking a corner. There's some good ones, but they signed two in FA, and they have decent depth behind them.
Biggest need areas I see: Impact OLB (Jordan), 5-tech DE (Carradine above but could be a lot of guys), QB for the future (Scott), Safety, and OL depth (could address this early, but may not as well). Adding a TE seems like a lock, though I don't see it as imminent of a need as other spots.
The Eagles really need more picks, so I suspect they'll be sliding back at some point, if not in the 1st.

Denard is a high potential pick in the 4th, and Ball is far and away the best back in the class

This is terrible.
I think if one of top corners or DL fall, that would be dream draft for Broncos. Not sure Eifert is what you would call a dream pick, or Ball. Ball will be lucky to make a roster. And what would Denard play???

The Broncos don't need DL and they can wait to the 3rd round to pick a DB. The Broncos have some of the worst TEs and RBs in the NFL thats where they need to upgrade
Denard would be a special teamer/slot receiver.

I like Ball a lot and have a lot of respect for the guy. He may end up being the best back in the class, but he doesn't blow you away with any one skill. He's sort of an E. Smith type RB who gains 4 a pop, but doesn't bust many for 40+.
And no, I didn't say Ball was as good as Smith

I will never understand that...that slapdick played QB.

As a Texans fan, they just have to take a WR with the first slot. Whether he's from Cal or WVU or Clemson I don't care. I'd like them to take a LBer or two in the 2nd and or 3rd, then find a project WR later in the draft. They may even take a backup QB for life after Schaub.
I don't know enough about the Texans honestly to know other huge holes

They could use a few DL, absolutely. Worst RB's?? I wouldn't agree with that. I wouldn't mind a TE if it was best option but to say thats the dream pick is wrong. Dream pick is stud CB or DL that falls. They can pick up good RB's and TE's later in draft anyway.

there's really no great shakes out there to dream of in round 1. I can remember years of hoping Pat Willis falls to you or whatever. This year doesn't have it. All the RBs and WRs suck, the lesser valued positions like safety where you can normally get a beast later don't have one.

McGahee or Knowyards are practice squad players for more than half the NFL

Defense is a luxury pick for the Broncos. RB and TE are needs.

LOL at the notion of Mcgahee and Knowshon being practice squad players. You dumb bro.

Bills
I am officially quitting as a fan when Buffalo Dickwads draft Nassib at No. 8
However, my ideal picks are
1 — Chance Warmack
2 — Nassib/Barkley/Manuel
3 — Jame Collins DE/OLB

You don't make it in league as long as McGahee and be a practice squad player. Knowshon is solid and you have Hillman whop will do nothing but get better.

I don't think you watched the playoff game. Bailey is past his prime and DL needs a couple studs. Guys at DT are solid but nothing special. And pass rush all Miller now that Dumervill is gone.
