Allen Craig went from hitting .300 3 years in a row to out of the majors by he was 30. Baerga was one of the best 2B in the game early in his career. When he hit 30 he was out of the game too. Though he did come back as a reserve years later.

Tiny Tim just ran out of gas. He was by far the best pitcher in the league for 4 years.

Rick Ankiel as a pitcher. Crazy after that mental wall he was able to play OF for several more years.

Larry Bird was in his 13th season when his back gave out. He was 35, hardly his prime

Jose Canseco could qualify. But his decline was mostly to several injuries. Right out the gate with titles, MVP, 40/40, highest paid player...then quickly became strictly a homerun guy. Would work great in today’s game... except without the juice

What’s with downvotes with no replies? I saw michael redd many times in person at Ohio State. He played nothing like the nba version of himself. At OSU he was a scorer but when it came to 3s he had a little hitch in his shot. Last time I spoke with Ken Johnson, his teammate, he said the same referencing his work ethic.

I do think his draft pick was a travesty because I also saw Larry Hughes play in college who has a similar style as they battled for top scorer as Freshman in college at the time and he was drafted like 8th a year before, so Redd was dissed in the draft for sure by staying in school.

Tim Lincecum. Awesome 3-4 year stretch. Has multiple all star games, Cy Youngs, rings and made about 100M. Career basically over at 30..

Agree. Tim Lincecum had such a violent delivery on such a small frame it seemed inevitable that his arm wouldn't be able to sustain the velocity he had for long.
