Have a hard time with major injuries on this one.

Figured it’d be more guys that started hot out of the gate but the league caught up or they got lazy.

Maybe a Vince young that was winning at a .667 rate, and 2 pro bowls in his first 4 years and then was out of the league after 2 more seasons. Though he was clearly not a polished player at his best, he collapsed, he didn’t have his shot taken by injury. But plenty of young QBs fit the bill.

These two were so good, especially Prior. That 03 NLDS game against Maddux was one of the best pitching gems I’ve ever watched

Would Tim Lincecum count here? Because that's my vote.

Ridiculous 4-5 year run then fell off the map.

he’s 26 and finished top 5 in a major last year. to soon to close the book

Last win was in 2017. Agree there is potential upside but he is primed to fit this category.

This thread should not include players that had major injuries that derailed careers

Agreed. Great thread idea, terrible execution.

Dominick Davis (now Williams) with the Texans is another injury guy. Rushed for over 1,000 yards in 1st 2 seasons for Texans, had 976 yards through 11 games in year 3 then blew out his knee. Was out of the league a year later.

RGIII is another example due in part to injuries.

Dale Murphy was arguably the best player of the 80s - finished 2nd in HRs, 1st in RBIs, 5th in hits and was a perennial gold glove winner in centerfield. Back to back MVPs and might have won a few more but for playing on terrible Braves teams.

I wouldn't say he fell apart in his prime but he dropped off a cliff as soon as it ended. Such a shame too because he was such a good guy and one of the nicest to ever play the game. His swan dive cost him a plaque in the HOF and a spot on those great 90s Braves teams that always played in the World Series.
