Is that supposed to be a new stadium? It looks like absolute shite.
And Jerry World does that for 80,000.

Who the hell cares about the "greatness" of wifi at a NFL stadium.... you are there to watch football... not fiddle faddle on your phone/tablet.
if i want to torrent the godfather trilogy in HD and be done with it before the end of the first quarter, why shouldn't I be able to????

Watching The Godfather would've been a far more entertaining option than the last game I attended (Georgia State).

It's a good part of town and far enough to where it won't make a difference.
I heard Colin Kapernick and a couple other players bought homes in the neighborhood behind the Rivermark Plaza. They can literally walk to the stadium in less than 10 mins. If your house is near there that makes you neighbors with some famous 49er players. Look out for a red Jag. Apparently that is what Colin drives.
In any case that Safeway in Rivermark is fricked on game days along with traffic on 237, 101 and Tasman. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near any of those roads on game days.

True to Silicon Valley form, the 49ers CTO is an Indian guy. This is the guy that will ensure that you can download movies to your smartphones at 50Mbps while you tweet Instagram pictures from the game.

Technology in the 49ers new stadium is amazing. Will have an app that allows you to find the shortest beer lines. Mind blown.
App will work for food & bathroom lines. Will play replays, your choice of angle. Stadium WiFi lets you stream NFL Redzone from your seat.

Stadium design looks atrocious. The wifi is super cool and a brilliant move in my opinion. When that place opens, 70,000 fans will be tweeting and face booking images and video in real time.
Consider this...if each fan has at least 100 twitter followers or Facebook friends, that would translate to 7 million people focused on that new stadium/game in real time. If you multiply 7 million people by their facebook friends and twitter followers, one can reasonably assume that potentially every human on Earth who uses social media will see images, video, or content referencing that stadium/game at some point during the game.
All of the sudden it doesn't matter what the stadium looks like. That game and the new stadium will be the hottest trending topic in the world.
Talk about a potentially incredible advertising cash cow!

So they plan on letting people watch games live for free? Seems to me those stairs allow people to come and catch a free viewing. Crappy looking stadium if you ask me.

I like the open air plazas a lot. Not everything has to be the Roman Coliseum. It fits both the culture of the team and the personality of the area and if you clowns would bother reading the linked article on the technology you'd see this stadium is ahead of its time in many ways considering the era we live in currently where many teams are struggling to get people to go to the games (a problem that will only get worse for teams who fall behind the standard this stadium will set).
I know you all hate the 49ers and all but try to be open minded for once.

Really horrible design. I prefer a classic bowl or an enclosed stadium in general, or an open endzone if there's a view. But there's no rhyme or reason to this design. And the exterior looks awful, except for the pressbox/suite side, which looks pretty cool. Here's a pic of the model of the stadium. It's supposed to present the stadium in its best light, but it looks terrible. Looks like the same cheapo construction as Stanford Stadium.
You're wrong about wi-fi. The Pac-12 Conference signed a deal with AT&T to provide free wi-fi in all the Pac-12 stadiums. The idea is to compete with the home viewing experience and to appeal to young people who are used to always being connected. Also, with the huge increase in prices at Levi's Stadium, I think there will be less riffraff and more executives/entrepreneurs/engineers who need to do work or be available to accept the latest acquisition offer.
The stadium is 40 miles from SF. But yeah Santa Clara is not a destination. If you come for a Niner game, you would spend your time in SF and I guess drive a rental car down to the stadium. I'm curious how they're going to handle the Super Bowl—if most of the events/parties are going to be in SF or near the stadium (which would be lame).

San Francisco 49ers, now playing nearly 100 miles away from San Francisco... Never heard anyone mention Santa Clara as a destination. That superbowl is going to be hell getting from place to place.

Perhaps the Saints fan part is coincidental, not causal....
