Money always wins whether it’s China and the NBA or the Saudis and the PGA. That being said I don’t want to hear anyone who shits on the NBA for their relationship with China somehow defend LIV or make them out to be some kind of prestigious organization

I don’t give a shite if Lucifer himself pays me or anyone else. As long as you aren’t doing the evil, money is money and at some point every dollar you touch was once spent by a POS

As a fan, all the best players will hopefully be playing together again. That’s all that matters to me

Will Zalatoris turned down $130M and now has a very serious back injury at 26…

Those mid-tier golfers that jumped to LIV are the real winners.

Harold Varner III for instance made ~$5m in his last 3 years on the PGA Tour, and made over $20m thus far in LIV.

Phil has always been my guy, but I’m not blinded to him being a bit phony at times and more magnanimous, to steal your term, publicly than he truly is. It seems like this worked out well for him and LIV, but I’ll always wonder how things would have gone had he not stepped in a big pile of shite with those recorded “off the record” comments.

That’s understandable honestly the PGA comes out looking like the biggest assholes in this. You can’t go on some moral crusade about blood money (which I actually thought was a good idea) and then fold at the first moment. Just empty moral grandstanding

He’s now the CEO of a multi billion worldwide golf conglomerate. He took the Saudi money he begged the pga players to turn down. His meeting with those players should be interesting.

Which is why I said from the beginning the Tour and Media making the blood money angle the biggest deal was a foolish game

If they never played that angle, it would be extremely easy for them to spin this as a 100% definitive win for their side. But they can’t do that now

Imagine turning down money from LIV because of your "integrity", and then seeing this announcement

Brendon Todd was just on the golf channel doing a short interview about it. Since LIV started, he has made a respectable amount of money, he's the 80th ranked player in the world. He looked like he was about to cry. He basically said he was frustrated at the PGA for caving because guys like him were loyal. AKA I could have had a serious bag of money but I turned it for no reason. And you know there were guys who got crazy money, much more than him. Imagine how they feel.

Another Tour player just said all that Rory said has fallen by the wayside. Ouch

I mean if they stood their ground and never merged it would make sense but as you said it’s completely hollow now

Perfect example of a bad decision made on emotion rather than logic.

Curious about this as well. But the bottom line is that it’s like the XM-Sirius merger. It makes no sense for either them or anyone else to have both going.

The best thing to come out of this for Rory, is that now he doesn’t have to be the face of the PGA Tour anymore. Now he can let the real stars be the face. Seriously, the PGA/LIV debate broke him. His recent comments on it made it perfectly clear he was done discussing it. Completely broke him.
